In recent years, the Armored Corps (TTG) has received and equipped many types of modern weapons and equipment, including the T-90S/SK tank. In order to train and master the operation of modern tanks, TTG technical staff have proactively researched and promoted many technical innovations and put them into application.
Of the 31 technical innovation topics and initiatives of units under the TTG Corps Technical Department recognized in 2022, there are 6 topics and initiatives that directly support and support the training, technical assurance, and exploitation of T-90S/SK tanks. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Head of Medical Warehouse (TTG Corps Technical Department) has 3 recognized technical innovation topics and initiatives, all of which are applied to effectively manage and exploit this type of tank. These are: Software for managing supplies, weapons, technical equipment, and ammunition; multi-purpose sealing machine for sealing T-90S/SK, T-54, and T-55 tank engines; ammunition model on T-90S/SK tanks...
Technical staff of the Medical Warehouse (Armored Corps Technical Department) introduces the model of the T-90S/SK tank missile. |
Introducing the initiative of a multi-purpose sealing machine to seal T-90S/SK tank engines, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Long said: “The Y Warehouse is assigned to manage, preserve and ensure the technical quality of a large quantity of ammunition, engines, equipment and technical supplies for T-90S/SK tanks. These are new and modern weapons and equipment, so the preservation, maintenance and sealing of T-90S/SK tank engines is very difficult. The unit does not have a specialized machine to preserve and seal engines, so technical staff must use manual sealing methods. Staff use a hand pump to pump sealing oil into the engine cylinders in turn and use a lever to rotate the crankshaft. This method makes the sealing quality uneven, low productivity, time-consuming, laborious and costly, and unsafe. Based on the unit's reality, I have researched, designed and successfully assembled a multi-purpose sealing machine to seal T-90S/SK tank engines and other types of tanks. T-54, T-55 tanks... The machine has main parts including: Engine, transmission box and mechanism, clutch system, high pressure pump. When put into use, the multi-purpose sealing machine is easy to operate, reducing the effort of technical staff; the quality of preservation and sealing is high and uniform, productivity is 3 times higher than manual methods, saving gasoline, oil, grease during the preservation process; ensuring safety for people and equipment".
To master the technology of preserving missile ammunition of T-90S/SK tanks, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Long has researched and built a model of the missile ammunition set to be used in training officers and technical staff. The model fully demonstrates the structural characteristics and operating principles of missile ammunition on T-90S/SK tanks. The details and components of the missile ammunition are made of wood, steel shells, connected together with pins and epoxy glue. The components are painted in different colors, such as the explosive container painted red; the electrical parts and detonators painted blue; the explosion transmission part painted black... The model has the same size and structure as the real missile ammunition of T-90S/SK tanks. Thanks to that, when training and studying, officers and technical staff can easily grasp the content, visualize reality, improve practical skills, and ensure safety. The initiative is widely applied in TTG units equipped with T-90S/SK tanks.
Along with the training model, Warehouse Y is applying the missile ammunition storage inspection stand on the T-90S/SK tank. This is an initiative of comrade Nguyen Van Ky, an employee of the Weapons-Ammunitions Division (Warehouse Y). The stand has the following parts: Rectangular body, 1,050mm long, 470mm wide, 10mm edge surrounding; two bases holding the ammunition body, 320mm apart, in the shape of an isosceles trapezoid, the upper part is a semicircle with a diameter of 130mm, in the middle of the circle is a groove, fixing a soft rubber pad in the groove. The stand also has bases holding the propellant and anti-slip details on the vertical axis. The missile ammunition storage and inspection stand of the T-90S/SK tank helps technical staff operate quickly and safely, improving productivity and quality of inspection, preservation, and storage of missile ammunition of the T-90S/SK tank.
Equipped with T-90S tanks for training, TTG Technical College has directed the Faculty of Specialized Engineering to coordinate with Battalion 4 to research and build a model of the T-90S tank, meeting the requirements of improving students' practical capacity. Major Tran Van Phi, Deputy Battalion Commander of Technical Battalion 4, together with Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Son, Head of Specialized Engineering Department and drivers of Battalion 4 (Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Cong Tam, Senior Lieutenant Pham Ngoc Loc) have researched, designed and manufactured a model of the T-90S tank cockpit. The cockpit model is 1,800mm long, 1,500mm wide, 1,100mm high, weighs 300kg; open structure, with a frame made of square iron, 1:1 ratio compared to the real cockpit. The model arranges the control drive clusters, dashboard, azimuth machine, pneumatic system, observation glass, driver's seat, signal lights, fuel supply system and equipment to prevent and combat weapons of mass destruction, fire fighting equipment... The model put into use contributes to improving the quality of training and education of the school.
Practical technical innovation topics and initiatives with good scientific content and creativity put into application have helped TTG technical officers and staff improve their level of mastery in exploiting weapons, equipment, and T-90S/SK tanks, contributing to improving training quality, ensuring technical skills and combat readiness of TTG troops.
