Sharing with Abema Times , the Japanese captain admitted: "I will stay. I think Liverpool is a very valuable club. If you ask me if I want to give up the opportunity to play for Liverpool to move to another team, the answer is no."
In the 2024/25 season, Endo made just one Premier League start and a total of 32 appearances in all competitions. The Japanese international played just 844 minutes, mostly as a substitute. However, Endo admitted that he is still happy with life at Liverpool.
The Japan captain said his main goal is to compete for titles with Liverpool. "I believe focusing on winning titles will be the best thing in my career," Endo added.
Last summer, Marseille made an offer to sign Endo, but Liverpool rejected it. The player joined the Anfield team from Stuttgart for a fee of £16.9 million in 2023. He has made 75 appearances, scoring 2 goals and providing 1 assist.
In Liverpool's midfield, Endo is only a backup option behind Curtis Jones, Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister. The Kop are also considering recruiting Adam Wharton from Crystal Palace ahead of the new season. However, Endo is still willing to accept a backup role.
“Of course, I'm not happy (about being benched)," Endo admitted. "But I always think about how I can contribute to the team in the current situation."
