Immediately after the injection, the patient experienced swelling of the entire face, lips, and eyelids. The patient took 16 mg of medrol, an antihistamine, but the damage was not much better. After 2 days, more clear blisters appeared on the face, ruptured and oozed fluid at the injection sites, so the patient went to the Central Dermatology Hospital for examination.
Doctor Le Thi Mai, Head of the Line Command Department (Central Dermatology Hospital), said that when examining the patient, the doctor found that the basic injury was swelling of the entire face, lips, eyelids, spreading down to the neck area, and at the same time, some blisters and clear vesicles appeared at the injection sites.
At the Central Dermatology Hospital, patients are treated to reduce edema, allergic reactions caused by injected products, and care to reduce secondary infections.
"This is one of many cases of people being injected with products that are not indicated for injection that have come to our hospital for examination. These products often cause unforeseen complications and require persistent treatment for many months or years. In this case, it is necessary to monitor and evaluate continuously for many months to detect and treat late complications after injection," added Dr. Vu Thai Ha, Head of the Department of Research and Application of Stem Cell Technology (Central Dermatology Hospital).
According to doctors, in cases of granulomas reacting after meso injection, depending on the active ingredient injected into the skin, some patients will have their papules disappear within 1-2 weeks of treatment, but in other cases it will take a long time.
There are many cases of "stealing" how to use drugs to reduce granulomatous reactions, inflammatory reactions, and treat complications after mesotherapy injections, and bringing them home to apply at small spas. Meanwhile, this drug needs to be used in the right dosage and indications because if too much is used incorrectly, it will cause abscesses and skin atrophy.
