The Memorandum of Understanding demonstrates the parties' common interest in engaging in discussions on the development of aviation services in Quang Ninh province, the establishment of a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility at Van Don International Airport, focusing on innovation and sustainable development; Identifying areas of cooperation that can benefit the parties, especially high-tech applications and green transformation strategies...

Accordingly, the parties discussed cooperation opportunities in the fields of aviation MRO services, including digitalization, automation, technology and skills transfer; Informal cooperation with educational and training institutions to promote STEM education, research and development, technical skills enhancement and green capacity; Sharing perspectives on workforce development, youth empowerment and the integration of advanced technologies such as AI, IoT and sustainable materials; Exploring technology transfer roadmaps and joint innovation initiatives supporting decarbonization and circular economy principles in the aviation industry...

The signing and exchange of the memorandum of understanding demonstrates the common interest of prestigious international partners with Sun Group in the aviation sector, which has great potential for development in Vietnam. Thereby, it contributes to the effective implementation of the Politburo's resolutions on science - technology development and innovation, promoting deep and comprehensive international integration, and developing the private economic sector.

Van Don International Airport is the first private airport in Vietnam built by Sun Group, with a "lightning-fast" construction time of less than 2 years, meeting 4E standards, and is the gateway to welcome international visitors to the Northeast region of Vietnam. Van Don Airport is capable of receiving large aircraft such as B777, B747, A350, which only large international airports such as Tan Son Nhat, Da Nang, and Noi Bai can meet. On November 1, Van Don Airport officially opened a charter flight route to Shenzhen, China. In 2026, Van Don Airport will connect many more international flights to countries in the region.

Previously, Sun Group officially launched Sun PhuQuoc Airways, opening the first "resort airline" model in Vietnam, connecting Phu Quoc with the whole country and the world. Also on November 1, the first flights of Sun PhuQuoc Airways will take off from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to the "Pearl Island". In the first phase, the airline will operate the Phu Quoc - Hanoi, Phu Quoc - Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City routes, creating more choices for tourists and residents.
