A group of engineering students at the University of Liège (Belgium) have just created a unique test kit that can detect anesthetics commonly used by criminals to put in drinks.

This innovative idea helped the student team win the Wallonie Entreprendre (Wallonian Entrepreneurship Support) award at the Startech competition.
The kit works on a fairly simple principle: the user simply dips a test strip into the drink in question. After about two minutes, if the drink contains one of the three most common anesthetics, the strip will change color.
According to a member of the team, their goal is to create a product that helps people feel more secure when going out. This kit is expected to help users protect themselves in a simple and effective way.
Thanks to the award received, the student group will continue to perfect the product to bring to market.
