Lost 7 billion VND, a thrilling story like in a movie
Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine recently received a complaint from the family of student T., who is in his 6th year. According to the complaint from T.'s family, at noon on May 23, T. called his mother to tell her that the school had chosen him to go on an international student exchange trip to the Federal Republic of Germany and asked his family to deposit money into his account so that T. could make a statement and submit it to the school to complete the application.
Then, on May 26, the family transferred 1.5 billion VND to T.'s account. T. sent a list of 10 students' statements and said that the school would give priority to the 5 students with the most statements to receive scholarships to study abroad. Hearing T.'s request to send more money, T.'s family sent another 1.48 billion VND to the child's account.

The next day, May 27, T. sent a statement and said he was not in the top 5 yet and wanted his parents to transfer more. The family transferred another 2.02 billion VND to round out the total to 5 billion.
But then, T. sent a statement and said he was still not in the top 5, begging his parents to send more money. The family sent another 500 million VND to T.'s account.
The next day, T. continued to send the statement and said that his friends had "raised" him, but he was not in the top 5, and begged his parents to send him another statement. Seeing that, T.'s family borrowed and sent him another 1.5 billion VND.
At this time, T. said he was in the top 5 but to secure a spot, he needed another 300 million VND.
Feeling suspicious, the family asked an acquaintance at the bank to check T.'s account balance, only to find out that there was no money left in his account.
The family called, T. made an excuse that he was at school and could not be reached, only replying that there was still 7 billion VND in his phone account. The family went to T.'s place of stay and learned that from May 14th until now, T. had not stayed there. From May 23rd, T. had also not come to the hospital for an internship as planned. When asked, T. said he had gone back to his hometown to visit his sick mother.
To this day, the family still does not know where T. is.
