Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training requires schools not to organize cultural knowledge teaching during the summer.

That was the information provided by Mr. Ho Tan Minh, Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City at the regular press conference on socio -economic issues of Ho Chi Minh City, which took place on the afternoon of June 1.

Mr. Minh said that based on the actual situation and current regulations, units need to proactively develop plans to adjust the content, scale of organization and appropriate organization methods. All activities taking place during the summer need to be noted, ensuring absolute safety, not affecting the examination activities.

According to Mr. Minh, it is necessary to organize summer activities that focus on training necessary skills for students; develop a plan for club activities with diverse forms to attract students to participate; do not organize cultural knowledge teaching during the summer, cultural review during the summer is only for students with weak academic performance.

The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requires educational institutions to organize summer activities focusing on 5 contents: Summer activities propaganda, education on traditions, history, education on revolutionary ideals, ethics, lifestyle, life skills, awareness, responsibility of citizens towards society, arousing patriotism, national pride, popularizing and educating the law; recreational activities, entertainment, skill training, improving physical and mental health for students; Activities to raise awareness of traffic safety, environmental protection; Organizing activities to care for and protect children; Volunteer activities.

In addition, the Department also requires educational institutions to develop a plan to organize summer activities and estimate operating expenses for 2023 at the unit, deploy it to cadres, teachers, employees, students, and parents, ensuring good implementation of the contents.

"It is necessary to create favorable conditions in terms of funding and facilities for students to come to school to participate in activities and have fun, summer activities, ensure disease prevention and control, and direct teachers and students to participate in summer activities. Organize summer activities with the motto "Safe - Fun - Healthy", with the content "Specific - Practical - Effective - Economical"; thoroughly implement regulations to ensure safety in disease prevention and control", Mr. Minh emphasized.
