(Quang Ngai Newspaper) - To promote the value of the space on both banks of the Tra Khuc River, Quang Ngai City still has a lot to do. Among them, the immediate task is to properly manage and promote the value of green projects invested along both banks of the river.
Quang Ngai City has Tra Khuc River flowing through the heart of the city, dividing the city into the north and south banks, then flowing towards the sea, pouring into Dai estuary. In the general planning of Quang Ngai City until 2030, with a vision to 2050, Quang Ngai City will develop according to a multi-polar model, in which Tra Khuc River is the main foundation. Previously, the province had developed a project and plan to build Quang Ngai City into a riverside, sea-oriented urban area since 2010.
On the journey to develop Quang Ngai City into a riverside, sea-oriented urban area; the people always expect breakthroughs and exploiting the potential of Tra Khuc River, especially the role of the river in creating landscapes. In fact, many provinces and cities such as Da Nang City, Hue City and Quang Nam Province have exploited the landscape value that rivers bring to develop tourism and services, bringing income to local residents.

In order to "awaken" the space on both banks of the Tra Khuc River, a number of large, dynamic projects have been, are being and will be implemented such as: The project of embankment to prevent landslides and beautify the landscape of the southern bank of the Tra Khuc River (from Tra Khuc I bridge to Tam Thuong wharf); Thach Bich Green Park project; Ba To flower garden, flower garden in front of Song Tra hotel, Long Dau mountain flower garden; flower gardens, trees along Te Hanh street... These green areas along the riverbank are expected to create a public green space along the river, serving people and tourists from all over the world to have fun and visit when coming to the city on the banks of the Tra Khuc River.
However, on the northern bank of the Tra Khuc River, green buildings along Te Hanh Street, in Truong Quang Trong Ward and Tinh An Tay Commune, have not yet achieved their expected value. The reason is that, among the public green areas along the river invested by the local government, there are temporary huts built by people to raise livestock and poultry. Waste from livestock activities makes people and tourists feel uncomfortable when walking in this area. In addition, many sidewalks of Te Hanh Street have also been turned into places for storing firewood and drying clothes by local people.
To develop Quang Ngai City into a true riverside, sea-oriented urban area, promoting the value of the space on both banks of the Tra Khuc River needs to be given due attention. That attention does not stop at investing in large projects, but also involves efforts to manage existing projects well. On that journey, in addition to the efforts of the local government, people also need community responsibility in building a civilized urban lifestyle, preserving and protecting public green projects.
