Shocked by ticket price for Laos vs Vietnam match: less than a portion of sticky rice for breakfast

According to the announcement from the Lao Football Federation, the match between Vietnam and Laos in the second leg of Group F, the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup, will take place at the New Laos National Stadium, with 3 ticket prices.

The cheapest entrance ticket is only 10,000 kip, or about 13,000 VND, which is not as much as a morning sticky rice meal in Vietnam, which costs an average of about 20,000 VND. Other ticket prices are 20,000 kip (about 24,000 VND) and the most expensive is 50,000 kip (about 60,000 VND). The organizers arranged for Vietnamese fans to sit in the A2 stand, with a ticket price of 50,000 kip.

This is a very cheap price for a match involving two national teams. The last time the Vietnamese team played at the New Laos National Stadium was a year ago, when the two teams met in the group stage of the 2024 ASEAN Cup. 10,685 fans were present at the 20,000-capacity stadium to witness the 4-1 victory of coach Kim Sang-sik and his team.

In the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, the first leg took place at Go Dau Stadium, where Vietnam defeated Laos 5-0 with goals from Chau Ngoc Quang, Hai Long and a double from Van Vi. In this return match, coach Kim Sang Sik's team aims to win all 3 points in hopes of securing a ticket to the 2027 Asian Cup finals.

Regarding the match schedule, the VFF representative confirmed that the match between Vietnam and Laos will take place at 7 p.m. on November 19, one day later than previously planned. Currently, Xuan Son and his teammates are training in Viet Tri ( Phu Tho ) and will move to Laos on November 15.

Vietnam is ranked 2nd in Group F with 9 points after 4 matches, while Laos is ranked 3rd with 3 points. Topping Group F is Malaysia, with 12 points.
