106 years ago, on November 7, 1917, the Russian October Revolution entered history as a breakthrough, paving the way and leading the way, a great achievement in the process of human history with the extremely noble ideal of abolishing the regime of man exploiting man, realizing peace , national independence, democracy and socialism.

The October Revolution in Russia made the oppressed and exploited masses' eternal dream of a good life, of justice, and of the ability to build a humane society come true.

The October Revolution in Russia is therefore forever recognized as a revolution that liberated society and liberated people.

New history of Russia

In the autumn of 1917, Russia and the Bolshevik Party faced a historic moment. The participation of the Russian Empire in World War I cost countless lives and property.

The attitude of the Provisional Government at that time was unwilling to respond to the people's wishes to sign a peace treaty and solve the problem of dividing landlords' land to peasants, economic disaster and social chaos increased to the point of obvious signs of collapse.

At that time, the upper class of Russian society was in turmoil; the working class, workers, and soldiers could no longer bear such a suffocating and harsh life; the General Staff of the Party and the Russian working class headed by Lenin grasped the direction of social movement, seized the opportunity, and launched an uprising to seize power. The proletarian revolution broke out as inevitable.

On November 7, 1917, under the leadership of the Russian Bolshevik Party, headed by VI Lenin, the Russian working class and working people carried out an armed uprising, overthrew the bourgeois government, and established the Soviet State - the first socialist state in the world.

The October Revolution in Russia fully met the urgent demands of history, which was to abolish the capitalist regime to build a new social regime - the communist social regime, the first stage of which was socialism. From being just a noble dream of mankind, after the October Revolution in Russia, socialism became a reality and had immense power, paving the way for oppressed peoples to rise up and fight for independence and freedom.

After the October Revolution, Lenin and the Russian Bolshevik Party focused on consolidating the Soviet government, building a new social regime, and bringing a good life to the masses.

The “Decree on Peace” and the “Decree on Land” issued immediately after the success of the revolution responded to the aspirations of the Russian working people for a peaceful, free and happy life. The unity of interests between the proletariat and the working people formed and developed a new moral principle, which was collectivism.

A new foreign policy, a new international relationship was affirmed as a policy of peace and friendship among nations. A new type of state was built on the foundation of eliminating national oppression, class oppression, no one exploiting another. The October Revolution affirmed that it marked the beginning of a new era - the era of national independence associated with socialism and a new era - the era of transition from capitalism to socialism.

Illuminating the path of national liberation for countries around the world

The victory of the October Revolution and the birth of the Soviet State founded by Lenin fundamentally changed the fate of the Russian people, turning Russia from a backward, poor, feudal, capitalist country into a leading economic, political, military, scientific, technical, cultural, educational... power in the world; turning the worker-peasant masses from slaves into masters of the country and society; the role and position of Russia in the international arena were constantly enhanced.

In particular, the victory of the Russian October Revolution gave strength to the international communist and workers' movement. Under the guidance and encouragement of the Russian October Revolution, with the enthusiastic and great support of the Soviet Union, a wave of proletarian revolution in Europe broke out strongly afterwards, creating a climax of struggle of the working class and working people, shaking the domination of the monopoly bourgeoisie in many countries. A socialist system was born, playing a huge role in the development of the modern world.

The October Revolution also had a strong impact on the political and social life of many other countries and peoples; it awakened and encouraged oppressed colonial peoples and dependent countries to rise up and fight for independence and freedom, bringing confidence and hope in the possibility of self-liberation.

The working class and laboring people in many colonial countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America rose up to fight for national independence; hundreds of millions of people were liberated from the chains of slavery, forming a strong national liberation movement worldwide.

The victory of the October Revolution, the achievements of the Soviet regime and the victory of the Soviet Union in World War II also awakened and encouraged the movement for people's livelihood, democracy and social progress in the developed capitalist countries, forcing capitalism and imperialism to make adjustments to adapt and survive. As Lenin affirmed: "Our October Revolution opened a new era in world history".

With the emergence and existence of nearly 80 years of Soviet Russia and then the Soviet Union (USSR), humanity has witnessed miraculous changes in human life on an area of 1/3 of the Earth, the glorious victory of the Soviet Red Army saving humanity from the fascist disaster and many great achievements that real socialism has brought.

However, since the collapse of socialism in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, hostile forces have been fiercely opposing and attempting to deny all achievements of the October Revolution in Russia and the ideological basis of the great revolution, which is Marxism-Leninism.

They believe that the October Revolution in Russia has only purely Russian meaning and value; thereby, denying the inevitability and dialectics of the October Revolution in Russia as well as of the socialist revolution in general, and at the same time denying the scientific and revolutionary nature of Marxism-Leninism.

But, the undeniable historical truth is that the October Revolution became a turning point in the development of human society, opening a correct path for the cause of liberating the working people from oppression and exploitation, building a new world of justice, democracy, civilization and progress. That is the transformation of the beautiful idea of socialism from utopia into reality.

The October Revolution in Russia in 1917 realized the ideological views of scientific socialism, was a great step forward in the development of human thought, so it really attracted and appealed to millions of people to follow the ideological light of the revolution and participate in the struggle directly or indirectly for the independence and freedom of their nation.

Therefore, the plots and tricks of hostile forces to sabotage socialism over the past decades have further highlighted the stature, significance and profound contemporary value of the great October Socialist Revolution in Russia.

Vietnam is always steadfast in its socialist ideals.

Inheriting and creatively applying the experiences and historical lessons of the October Revolution, the Communist Party of Vietnam, founded and trained by President Ho Chi Minh, led the Vietnamese people to carry out a long and arduous revolutionary struggle, overcoming countless difficulties and challenges and achieving glorious feats.

Affirming the great stature and value of the October Revolution, President Ho Chi Minh once said: “Like the brilliant sun, the October Revolution shone across five continents, awakening millions of oppressed and exploited people on earth. In human history, there has never been a revolution with such great and profound significance;” “The great victory of the Russian October Revolution taught the working class, the working people and oppressed peoples all over the world many extremely valuable lessons, ensuring the cause of complete liberation of the working class and of all mankind.”

In the light of Marxism-Leninism and the Russian October Revolution, leader Nguyen Ai Quoc found here the "Magical Handbook" as the path to national salvation for the Vietnamese people.

And following the call of the Russian October Revolution, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam founded and trained by him, the Vietnamese revolution followed the trajectory of socialism. The Vietnamese people made the victory of the August Revolution in 1945.

The Democratic Republic of Vietnam was born, on the basis of selecting positive elements of the Soviet state organization model, and accompanied the people firmly in entering the long march and winning the resistance war against French colonialism after nine long years (1946-1954).

The North was liberated and carried out the construction of socialism, becoming a great rear base for the great frontline of the South in the journey to continue carrying out the people's national democratic revolution, liberating the South and unifying the country.

Firmly pursuing the goal of national independence and socialism, after 21 years of protracted resistance (1954-1975), the Vietnamese people's arduous resistance war against the US to save the country won complete victory; the whole country moved towards socialism.

Faced with the demands of reality in the late 80s of the 20th century, under the leadership of the Communist Party, in 1986, Vietnam carried out a comprehensive renovation and developed the country in the direction of socialism.

After more than 35 years of innovation and international integration, Vietnam has achieved many great achievements in socio-economic development, firmly protecting independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity; enhancing Vietnam's position and prestige in the international arena.

From being surrounded, embargoed and having relations almost exclusively with countries in the socialist bloc, Vietnam has integrated deeply and comprehensively. Vietnam is also a proactive, active and responsible member of many regional and international organizations, with an increasingly important role and voice in ASEAN, the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM), the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), the United Nations, etc.

In addition, political and social stability was maintained, democracy was promoted, and national solidarity was strengthened, creating a strong driving force for the cause of national construction and defense. The economy maintained a good growth rate, the scale of the economy increased. People's lives were improved.

With a positive and proactive approach to international integration and contributions to solving common issues of the region, the world and humanity, such as peace, development, poverty eradication, climate change adaptation, etc., Vietnam is becoming a member with an increasingly important role, influence and voice in the international community.

The achievements after more than 35 years of national Renovation have contributed to proving the correctness and suitability of the model of real socialism in Vietnam. At the same time, it shows that the Communist Party of Vietnam has firmly led the people to successfully carry out the renovation cause, bringing the country into a period of development - a period of accelerating industrialization and modernization of the country for the goal of a rich people, a strong country, democracy, fairness and civilization.
