Since the beginning of the year, the country has recorded 154,835 cases and 39 deaths. Compared to the same period in 2022, the number of cases decreased by 53.1% and deaths decreased by 108 cases.
In Hanoi , according to the Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC), last week (from November 24 to December 1), the city recorded 1,715 cases of dengue fever in 30 districts, towns and cities (a decrease of more than 520 cases compared to the previous week).
Districts recorded many patients last week, led by Ha Dong with 180 cases, followed by Dong Da with 170 cases, Thanh Oai (161 cases), Phu Xuyen (134 cases), Hoang Mai (109 cases).
Thus, from the beginning of 2023 until now, Hanoi has recorded 37,441 cases of dengue fever (2.4 times higher than the same period in 2022), including 4 deaths (17 deaths less than the same period last year).
In addition, since the beginning of the year, the city has recorded 1,923 dengue fever outbreaks. There are currently 88 outbreaks active in 19 districts, towns and cities.
According to the Hanoi CDC, the results of monitoring dengue fever prevention and control at some outbreaks last week showed that the BI index (an index that investigates the number of water containers with larvae and Aedes mosquitoes) has decreased below the prescribed threshold. The monitoring results in some places showed that: Kim Thu commune, Thanh Oai district has BI=15; Co Dong commune, Son Tay town BI=5; Dai Mach commune, Dong Anh district BI=15...
Based on the above results, Hanoi CDC assessed that the number of dengue fever cases has tended to decrease in the past 4 weeks, but is still at a high level. Therefore, people should not be subjective but need to comply with disease prevention and control measures according to the instructions of the health sector.
