The “Vietnam - Colors from the Tropics” festival in Moscow has officially ended, and initial statistics show that its attraction exceeded expectations.

Despite high expectations, the Organizing Committee was still surprised by the heat that the "tropics" brought right to the heart of the Russian capital.

From the opening day on July 25 to the closing day on August 3, the Festival area was always packed and there was no more space.

According to initial statistics from the Moscow Department of Tourism , during the 10 days of the event, the Festival attracted 968,000 residents and visitors.

In the food court, the service staff worked tirelessly, with many specialty items having to be "received" many times from Vietnam, but on the last day, some stalls were still forced to remove their signs because they were "out of stock."

Folk games always attract a large number of participants, with spectators standing in many circles, some even sitting in advance to reserve seats for the next show. Traditional musical instrument performances also had to be extended from 30 minutes to 45 minutes due to the huge audience demand.

Viethause Company representative shared that they had prepared 5,000 conical hats, 1,000 army hats, and 10,000 boxes of Sao Vang balm, but it was still not enough to serve until the closing day.

Vietnamese banh mi - without any promotion, recognized by the world as one of the 50 best street foods - still set a record at the Festival with 500-600 pieces sold per day at just one stall.

Meanwhile, many visitors expressed regret for not having time to enjoy the salt coffee from the Daklak coffee stall - a strange taste for people in cold countries who are used to hot black coffee, because the stall was "sold out" before the festival ended. Unique lacquer jewelry was also chosen by visitors thanks to its sophisticated and unique beauty.

Deputy Chairman of the Moscow City Tourism Committee, Mr. Bulat Nurmukhanov, shared that during the 10 days of the event, people can fully experience the atmosphere of Vietnam without leaving Moscow.

With close coordination between the Organizing Committee and the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia, an authentic Vietnamese space has been recreated in the heart of the capital, where people can learn about culture, enjoy cuisine, visit handicraft stalls, watch water puppetry, traditional martial arts performances and immerse themselves in folk music.

Many Muscovites, after immersing themselves in that "miniature Vietnam", have turned their emotions into concrete motivations, such as planning to visit Vietnam.

According to Ms. Aleksandra Nguen - Sales Director of Vinpearl chain, every day her mobile office at the Festival welcomes thousands of visitors looking for information about destinations, resort cities or typical dishes.

Vietnam Airlines' office also recorded a large number of customers asking about direct flights connecting Moscow and many tourist "gems" of Vietnam.

Acknowledging these successes, Vietnamese Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi expressed his deep gratitude to the Moscow City Government for their comprehensive support in the organization, and also thanked the attention of the General Secretary's wife - Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly, who is knowledgeable and very interested in traditional arts as well as cultural diplomacy activities, for contributing to creating a unique artistic Festival program.

The Ambassador also emphasized that the success of the event was thanks to the consensus and active contributions from the Vietnamese community in Russia - from sponsors to volunteers, all together created a true festival with heart, effort and love for the homeland.

The sincere concern, smiles and warm applause over the past 10 days are the wonderful results that the “Vietnam - Colors from the Tropics” Festival has achieved. The gifts that Russians brought home after the Festival were not only flavors, colors, and materials, but also the mysterious charm of the land with 54 ethnic groups, 4,000 years of civilization, and sincere and benevolent hearts, just like the way a culture should shine, should enrich itself, should be a bridge for a brotherly friendship. And the Vietnamese people living abroad are once again proud of their roots, once again seeing that their homeland has never been so close./.
