Vietnam’s aviation market is currently one of the fastest growing in Southeast Asia, with passenger traffic expected to increase by 8% annually until 2030. Major investments in airport infrastructure and fleet expansion are also underway, opening up unprecedented opportunities for cooperation.
Vietnam's master plan for the development of its national airport system aims to have 30 airports by 2030 and 33 airports by 2050, supported by advanced technology and policies to encourage public-private partnerships.
In the field of aviation, cooperation between Vietnam and the United States has made strong progress with major agreements signed, from opening direct flights, sharing flights, transporting goods to aircraft technical services, technological cooperation and training of high-quality human resources. At the same time, the space for aviation cooperation between the two sides is still very large.
Accordingly, Vietnamese enterprises will have the opportunity to access technology, experience and international management standards, while US enterprises will be able to participate in a fast-growing and potential aviation market. This cooperation also contributes positively to enhancing bilateral economic and trade relations between Vietnam and the US.

On the business side, Mr. Do Vinh Quang, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of T&T Group, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietravel Airlines emphasized: “Cooperation with US partners is one of the long-term development strategies of T&T Group. Particularly in the aviation sector, T&T Group and Vietravel Airlines are pursuing an integrated aviation group model, focusing on technology, international management and customer experience.”
“We believe that, with the support of leading US partners, Vietravel Airlines will not only develop sustainably in Vietnam, but also contribute to making Vietnam an attractive destination, strongly connected with the region and the world,” Mr. Do Vinh Quang emphasized.
At the seminar, representatives of US businesses shared a lot of useful information. Meanwhile, T&T Group also proposed cooperation opportunities in many fields, from airport operations, developing smart airport models, deploying flight service utilities, to terminal design and management.
These are all areas in which US partners have strengths and are also the categories that T&T Group is interested in and wants to cooperate extensively in the future.
T&T Group's vision for aviation
In the aviation sector, T&T's plan does not stop at developing airlines or airports, but aims towards an integrated aviation group model - a model that has been successful in many countries such as Singapore Airlines Group, Lufthansa Group (Germany), Qatar Airways and Emirates Group (UAE)...
To implement this strategy, T&T Group has built a solid foundation for a complete aviation ecosystem with many important pieces.
T&T Airlines will be a business specializing in aviation services, including air transport, travel agencies, flight operations services, and other direct support services and activities.
Quang Tri Airport is a key project in the Central region invested by T&T. The project started construction in July 2024 with a scale of 265 hectares and a total investment of more than VND 5,800 billion. When completed, the airport is expected to meet level 4C standards; capable of developing Code E aircraft operations; meeting the needs of operating up to 5 million passengers and 25,500 tons of cargo per year.
Recently, Quang Tri province has proposed to upgrade the port to level 4E to expand its capacity to receive wide-body aircraft such as Boeing 777, Airbus A350, serving the goal of international connectivity and developing the North Central region. According to the plan, the port will complete phase 1 in 2026.

T&T is also planning to develop an aviation industrial complex - logistics - services - trade - airport urban area with a scale of 10,800 hectares in Quang Tri; including all functional areas for an aviation industrial complex: maintenance, manufacturing and assembly of spare parts, aircraft equipment, aircraft production and testing, logistics hub, innovative aviation area, modern service center and airport urban area...
When completed, this will be the leading airport urban-aviation industrial complex model in Vietnam.
In addition, with T&T Group becoming a strategic shareholder of Vietravel Airlines, in a short time, Vietravel Airlines has continuously welcomed its own fleet of aircraft. The airline is also actively negotiating with aircraft manufacturers and international airlines to expand its fleet and flight network.
By 2030, the airline's fleet size will reach 30-50 aircraft, with a flight network covering Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia and the Middle East.

Not only actively participating in PPP projects and investing in key national infrastructure projects, T&T Group also proactively develops the logistics - aviation - supporting industry - smart urban ecosystem, gradually building a synchronous value chain.
These steps demonstrate strong financial potential and the long-term vision of businessman Do Quang Hien and T&T, along with their commitment to sustainable development.
In fact, over the years, T&T Group and its member companies have continuously expanded their cooperation with leading strategic partners in the United States. In February, T&T Group had a meeting and worked with aircraft manufacturer Boeing. At the event, Boeing expressed its interest and agreed in principle to let T&T become its strategic partner in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
Previously, in September 2021, T&T Group signed a series of contracts and cooperation agreements with US partners in the fields of renewable energy, agricultural product purchasing, exclusive distribution of famous functional food brands...
T&T Group is also directly present in the United States through T&T America with many valuable investment activities, typically real estate projects in Huntington Beach and Brookhurst, California... This enterprise is also researching to expand the scale of investment in Huntington Beach, with plans to add large investments in the near future.
These strategic investments not only contribute to expanding the global value chain but also promote FDI capital flows from the US to Vietnam and increase consumption of related products and services, thereby contributing to improving the bilateral trade balance.
