33 years of "sowing letters" in difficult areas
Born and raised in the border district of Bu Dop, Ms. Phuong deeply understands the hardships and disadvantages of children here. In 1991, after graduating, she did not choose more favorable places to start a career, but returned to her hometown to work and teach. A brave decision in the context of that time, when teaching conditions were still very lacking. In the early 90s of the 20th century, educational facilities in Bu Dop were extremely makeshift. The school was located deep in a difficult area, making it difficult to travel, dusty in the dry season, and muddy in the rainy season. An old bicycle was the only means for the young teacher to travel the long distance to class. The teaching places were temporary rooms made of bamboo, wood, and thatched roofs, rickety in the sun and wind.
Teacher Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong is always dedicated to her work, guiding and teaching generations of young teachers, whether they are classroom teachers or administrators.
“When I first graduated from school, the facilities and teaching staff were lacking. There were only 8 leaders and teachers, working in a room of less than 20 square meters . The classrooms had rotten pillars and leaky roofs, and every time it rained, teachers and students had to evacuate quickly,” Ms. Phuong recalled.
Despite the many difficulties, Ms. Phuong has always been steadfast in her choice. The hardships did not make her falter, but on the contrary, motivated her to try harder to bring letters to poor students in the border areas. After more than 3 decades in the profession, Ms. Phuong has gone through many milestones: from direct teaching to school management. No matter what position she holds, she always shows her dedication, responsibility for the profession and boundless love for students.
Ms. Phuong shared: “In my career of “cultivating people”, I always keep in mind that standing on the podium is a sacred thing. I feel very secure and satisfied with the profession I have chosen. As long as I am healthy, I will continue to devote all my heart and strength to my beloved students.”
The one who "lights" the fire of passion
Not only does she fulfill her role as a teacher and manager well, Ms. Phuong is also a positive inspiration for generations of young teachers. Her enthusiasm and dedication have spread a sense of responsibility and dedication throughout the school's teaching staff.
Even though she has become a manager, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong is still close, friendly and loved by her students.
Ms. Bui Thi Trang Diem, a teacher at Thien Hung A Primary School, shared: “Ms. Phuong is very dedicated to her work, always enthusiastic in school activities and kindly guides us in teaching as well as carrying out movements and assigned tasks. Ms. Phuong is always a role model for teachers to learn from and follow.”
Ms. Phuong not only cares about her expertise but also pays special attention to the lives of poor students and those in difficult circumstances. From calling for and mobilizing support for scholarships, uniforms, and school supplies to closely following each situation. She is always present like a second mother, supporting the unfinished dreams of her students. With her tireless contributions, Ms. Phuong has left a deep impression in the hearts of her colleagues and the education sector of Bu Dop district.
“Ms. Phuong is very dedicated to the local education cause, always caring for students, especially those in difficult circumstances. She implements all policies and plans of the education sector in a methodical, drastic and effective manner. Over the years, she has always been a manager who has completed her tasks excellently.” Deputy Head of Education and Training Department of Bu Dop district NGUYEN HUU NHUAN |
Under the leadership of Ms. Phuong, Thien Hung A Primary School has continuously improved teaching quality, innovated methods, actively responded to emulation movements of the industry, and contributed significantly to the local education cause.
Bright example in everyday life
In the era of technological development and increasingly modern teaching conditions, stories about the dedication of teachers like Ms. Phuong become more and more valuable. She is a testament to a generation of teachers who are both talented and dedicated, willing to sacrifice personal interests to contribute to the community, to children in the border areas that still have many shortages. That is the ideal, the motivation for young teachers today and tomorrow to follow and preserve. That is also a convincing affirmation: Education in the border areas will never be a lowland, if there are teachers like Ms. Phuong who constantly strive to spread knowledge and light up the future for the young generation.
As a manager, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong always cares about the school's facilities, teaching equipment, and the lives of its staff and teachers.
Mr. Tran Dinh Trong, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Bu Dop district commented: “Ms. Phuong is a shining example of love for the profession, dedication to students and perseverance in staying in school and class for more than 3 decades. This is not a short period of time, especially for a teacher working in a difficult border area like Bu Dop. Not only is she a good teacher, she is also the one who inspires the passion for learning for many generations of ethnic minority students. The children who once timidly entered the classroom have now grown up, some have returned to continue their education career. Ms. Phuong is not only an exemplary teacher but also a beautiful symbol of perseverance, love and responsibility. She deserves the respect not only from the education sector, but also from the entire community in this border area.”
