At the meeting, Mr. L. said he was illiterate so he asked the cyclo team leader to help him write a report. According to Mr. L.'s report, at around 8:00 p.m. on May 30, he picked up two Russian guests from No. 1 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street to 98 Tran Phu, Nha Trang City. Mr. L. offered a price of 50,000 VND and the guests agreed. However, when they arrived, the guests only paid 5,000 VND, so Mr. L. did not agree. After a while of arguing, the guests gave a total of 35,000 VND but Mr. L. still did not agree and asked for 50,000 VND. In the end, he agreed and took 35,000 VND, but because he was impatient, he behaved in an uncivilized manner towards the guests. Mr. L. admitted that he was wrong for his unkind behavior towards the guests, affecting the image of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tourism .
Speaking to Khanh Hoa Newspaper reporter, Mr. Le Quang Nhat - Chairman of Nha Trang Cyclo Union said that Mr. L.'s actions in the clip spread on social networks were all wrong, offensive, contrary to the rules and regulations of conduct that the union had promoted, so he must be disciplined. However, the whole story of the incident must also be considered. Mr. L.'s actions were the result of repression after arguing with tourists. The union met and agreed to revoke Mr. L.'s membership card, vehicle registration number, and union uniform; and assigned Mr. L.'s team leader to support him in further training in culture and communication skills. If after a probationary period, Mr. L. absorbs and improves his skills, it will be considered for re-admission to the union.
After this incident, on June 3, the Executive Committee of the Nha Trang Cyclo Union will meet with the cyclo groups to request the propaganda groups to improve the communication culture and behavior of cyclo drivers while serving tourists, and not have any regrettable actions that affect the image of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tourism.
As Khanh Hoa Newspaper reported, on the afternoon of May 31, a video clip was circulated on Facebook showing an electric cyclo driver in Nha Trang City carrying a foreign woman and a little girl. When stopping on Tran Phu Street, the foreign woman took out money to pay, but the cyclo driver did not agree. The cyclo driver raised his hand with five fingers spread out, demanding that the passenger pay more. However, the foreign woman did not accept. At this time, the cyclo driver snatched the stack of money from the foreign woman's hand.
