The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam ( Ministry of Construction ) has just issued a dispatch requesting relevant agencies and units to organize 24/7 duty; strictly implement procedures for responding to storms and tropical depressions in civil aviation activities.

Accordingly, the airports forecast to be in the area directly affected by storm No. 13 include: Da Nang, Phu Bai, Lien Khuong, Chu Lai, Phu Cat, Tuy Hoa, Pleiku, Buon Ma Thuot. In addition, Cam Ranh International Airport and Dong Hoi Airport are proactively updating information to be on guard when the storm has unusual developments.
Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) is required to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to inspect airport infrastructure systems, communication systems, etc. to promptly detect and handle damages (if any) to ensure the safety of works, stations, and ensure the safety of operations at airports.
At the same time, deploy plans to prevent rain and storms, measures to prevent flooding, clear the flow in airports, protect works, vehicles and equipment at airports, minimize damage caused by rain and storms and quickly stabilize all aviation activities to serve the needs of passengers.
For airports currently under construction (Chu Lai, Phu Cat), the Civil Aviation Authority requires investors to work with contractors to immediately implement storm response measures; identify technical stopping points to stop construction according to the storm's developments; prepare conditions to promptly fix construction incidents, ensure safety, and limit damage caused by storms.
In addition, it is necessary to arrange 24/7 duty and proactively update meteorological information to promptly propose appropriate and safe exploitation plans.
The Department also noted that units after the storm weakened and made landfall were at risk of heavy rain, causing flooding after the storm.
Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM) is assigned to direct aviation meteorological service providers to strengthen the work of ensuring the quality of meteorological information; continuously monitor weather conditions in the area of responsibility, update forecasts and warnings; and provide timely and complete monitoring, forecasting and warning information to users.
Adjust flight schedule accordingly
Airlines and flight safety service providers are required to strengthen coordination; closely monitor the developments of storm No. 13 to have plans to adjust flight plans or change flight schedules accordingly and ensure flight safety.
At the same time, fully update meteorological information from relevant aviation meteorological facilities and base on the actual situation to deploy necessary response actions, minimize impacts on exploitation, ensure flight safety, protect people and property of the unit from natural disasters.
The airport authority is assigned to supervise the implementation of response contents at relevant airports; ensure smooth communication with the Command Board for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and relevant agencies and units within the scope of responsibility to deploy response in all situations.
