Tan Hung checks cultural criteria in Hung Thanh commune

The Steering Committee of the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" in Tan Hung district, led by Mr. Le Van Tho - Head of the district's Department of Culture and Information, inspected cultural criteria in building a new rural commune and surveyed and evaluated the effectiveness of cultural and sports institutions in Hung Thanh commune on the afternoon of July 17, 2024.

The inspection team surveyed the actual performance of cultural institutions in Hung Tan hamlet, Hung Thanh commune.

Pursuant to Decision No. 8151 dated August 31, 2022 of the People's Committee of Long An province promulgating the set of criteria for new rural communes and the set of criteria for advanced new rural communes in the province for the period 2021 - 2025, the cultural sector is in charge of criterion No. 6 on Culture and criterion No. 8 on Information and Communication.

In 2015, Hung Thanh commune was recognized as meeting the New Rural standards. The traffic routes were invested in and built to make it easier for people to travel and transport goods. The rural appearance is increasingly prosperous, and the material and spiritual life of the people is constantly improving. Promoting the potentials, advantages and achievements, the commune focuses on maintaining and improving the criteria, aiming to complete the construction of an advanced New Rural Area. Currently, the commune has achieved 4/19 criteria.

The Cultural - Sports and Community Learning Center meets the prescribed standards, the center always operates stably, is maintained regularly and effectively; 05/05 hamlets have Cultural Houses to ensure serving the needs of cultural enjoyment, spirit and learning of the people. 02/05 hamlets are recognized by the District People's Committee as meeting the New Rural standards in 2023, namely Go Gon hamlet and Hung Thanh hamlet.

The commune has 05/05 hamlets with a loudspeaker system operating regularly, reaching a rate of 100%; 100% of households can watch one of the following methods: satellite, cable, digital terrestrial, and Internet television; the rate of smartphone subscribers is over 95%; the rate of online settlement records out of the total administrative procedure settlement records of the commune is nearly 99%...

However, currently, the Commune Cultural - Sports and Community Learning Center and the Hamlet Cultural Houses have not installed outdoor sports equipment; there are no OCOP products introduced and promoted on the e-commerce platform; there are no house number signs... so the cultural criteria in building an advanced New Rural commune have not yet met the regulations.

Hung Thanh Commune Cultural - Sports and Community Learning Center was invested in 2015 to meet the cultural enjoyment needs of the people.

Through listening to the commune's report and conducting a field survey at the Cultural - Sports and Community Learning Center and the Hamlet Cultural Houses in the commune, members of the Inspection Team pointed out the shortcomings and limitations in the implementation process that need to be overcome in the coming time.

Mr. Le Van Tho - Head of the District Department of Culture and Information suggested that the locality should focus on investment in construction to complete the cultural criteria in building an advanced New Rural commune; hamlet headquarters should be decorated in accordance with regulations, ensure environmental sanitation around the headquarters, strictly implement the recording of hamlet activity logs; need to ensure enough books in the library and law bookcases at the hamlet cultural house in the commune.
