Strengthening price management and control measures in the last months of the year

The City People's Committee has just issued a document to strengthen price management and control measures in the remaining months of 2024.

Specifically, the City People's Committee requested the Department of Industry and Trade to continue to proactively monitor the supply and demand developments, market situation, especially essential goods (food, foodstuffs, etc.) during times of high market demand (holidays, Tet, storms, base salary increase, etc.); promptly urge production, supply, and distribution units, shopping centers, supermarkets, convenience store chains, and markets in the area to proactively plan to reserve goods, prepare sources of goods to ensure adequate supply of goods to the market, avoiding shortages, hoarding, speculation, or unreasonable price increases.

In addition, the Department of Industry and Trade directed the Da Nang Market Management and Development Company to strengthen monitoring of price developments and market stabilization at markets under its management; to propagate and mobilize traders at affiliated markets to increase reserves of essential goods, food and foodstuffs. At the same time, monitor and supervise goods at the market, coordinate with relevant agencies to inspect, detect and strictly handle cases of traders speculating, hoarding goods, or taking advantage of natural disasters to unreasonably raise prices.
