Strengthening the Party's leadership over the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and youth organizations

On August 10, in Da Nang, the Central Youth Union organized a scientific workshop on "Current status, content and methods of operation of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Vietnamese youth and children's organizations".

The workshop was chaired by Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union Bui Quang Huy; Director of the Vietnam Youth Academy Nguyen Hai Dang; Secretary of the Da Nang City Youth Union Nguyen Manh Dung. On the city's leadership side, there was Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council Luong Nguyen Minh Triet.

Speaking at the workshop on “Solutions to strengthen the Party’s leadership over the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Vietnamese youth and children’s organizations in the new situation”, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet said that the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee always focuses on strengthening the leadership over the Youth Union and youth and children’s organizations; promptly implementing the Central Resolutions on the Youth Union and youth and children’s activities.

According to Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, the coming time is a period of generational transition from the generation of cadres born, raised, trained, and matured during the war, trained domestically and in socialist countries, to the generation of cadres born, raised, and matured in peace, trained from many sources, many countries with different political regimes.

Meanwhile, changes in social structure, lifestyle, and thinking of young people in the context of market economy and international integration have shown very complex manifestations. In addition, hostile forces are trying to incite, attract, and transform young people, causing difficulties in propaganda, education, and ideological orientation. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the Party's leadership over the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and youth and children's activities to continue to improve the effectiveness of the Union's activities in caring for and protecting the legitimate rights of the young generation, accompanying young people in establishing themselves and their careers, worthy of being a socialist school for young people, a reliable reserve force of the Party.

On that basis, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet proposed that Party committees at all levels need to regularly disseminate and raise awareness among cadres, party members and people about the importance and tasks of leadership and building the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and youth and children's organizations in the new situation; both maintaining the Party's leadership and promoting the proactiveness and creativity of the Youth Union; maintaining the political nature and respecting the social nature in the organization and activities of the Youth Union.

It is necessary to focus on issuing policies and guidelines on youth and children development to orient development, support, and create conditions for the young generation to study, work, be creative, develop themselves, and contribute to the country's socio-economic development. In addition, it is necessary to focus on leading the Youth Union to promote its role in monitoring and social criticism, participating in giving opinions on Party building and government building; fighting to prevent and repel the degradation of political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, and manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation".

Strengthen the leadership of the Party Committee in the work of Youth Union cadres and the management of Youth Union cadres, along with promoting the responsibility of organizations and leaders in the political system. In particular, the Party Committee leading the Youth Union needs to promote revolutionary action movements, promote the pioneering and creative role of young people, create a favorable environment for training, dedication and maturity.
