Strengthening propaganda to reduce early marriage and incestuous marriage

From May 5 to 8, the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of Thai Nguyen province organized a conference to promote the reduction of child marriage and incestuous marriage in ethnic minority and mountainous areas by 2025. Nearly 100 delegates who are prestigious people in the ethnic minority communities in the area attended.

At the Conference, delegates were informed of the key contents including: Overview of the Project "Reducing child marriage and consanguineous marriage in ethnic minority areas"; the plan to implement the Project in Thai Nguyen province; regulations of the Law on Marriage and Family, Law on Children, Law on Gender Equality, and related legal regulations... At the same time, they were informed about the harmful effects of child marriage and consanguineous marriage on health, race and quality of human resources.

In addition, delegates are equipped with knowledge, consulting and communication skills and participate in discussions and resolving problems during the implementation process.

The conference contributes to raising awareness of law compliance, gradually changing behavior, and eliminating bad customs related to marriage among ethnic minorities.

This is an activity within the framework of phase 2 of the Project "Reducing child marriage and consanguineous marriage in ethnic minority areas of Thai Nguyen province, period 2021-2025".
