With increasingly synchronous and modern investment in transport infrastructure, the passenger transport service market in the province has developed dynamically, diversifiedly and faced considerable competitive pressure. In this reality, along with investing in and upgrading vehicles using new technology with low fuel consumption and reduced operating costs, units have been focusing on improving service quality, customer care and reasonable prices to attract and increase the number of customers.

Although it was only officially opened and put into operation in mid-August 2023, SM Vinh Phuc Green Taxi (abbreviated as Vinh Phuc Green Taxi) under GSM Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company - a unit providing passenger transport services by electric cars under the VinFast brand has become a familiar taxi company for many people in the province.
With many advantages that all taxi companies operating in the province using gasoline vehicles cannot have such as no engine noise when moving, no gasoline smell, environmentally friendly, along with many entertainment utilities integrated in the car, a team of professionally trained drivers, Vinh Phuc Green Taxi has been bringing customers good service experiences: Fast service; quick and easy car booking; cost savings with clear fares, no price increase in all weather conditions; easy payment with many different payment methods.
Thanks to that, this electric taxi company has developed rapidly in the province. Currently, there are over 500 registered vehicles operating, accounting for 18% of the total number of registered taxis operating in the province.
Not only in Vinh Phuc, currently, SM Green Electric Taxi is present in 45 provinces and cities nationwide, gradually realizing the company's goal of "greening" 60 provinces and cities nationwide by 2025.
The Department of Transport is currently managing more than 2,420 transport units, including 22 passenger transport units by taxi, 394 passenger transport units by contract vehicles, 6 passenger transport units by fixed-route vehicles with a total of 95 vehicles operating on 39 fixed inter-provincial passenger transport routes to provinces and cities across the country and 2 public passenger transport units by bus.
With a large and diverse number of vehicles and effective business strategies, the continuous expansion of the system to remote areas of the transportation service business units has been opening up many choices for consumers not only in the city area but also in many rural areas in the province, contributing to the strong development of the transportation market in the province.
In order to improve the quality of passenger transport services in the province, recently, the province has paid attention to investing in passenger transport infrastructure with 9 bus stations, 326 parking spots, 130 bus shelters, 24 taxi parking spots and 112 fixed-route pick-up and drop-off spots that are regularly maintained and repaired according to regulations, well serving the travel needs of people in the province.
At the same time, the Department of Transport has directed, organized inspections, supervisions, and required transport business vehicles to install and maintain operating status of journey monitoring devices and cameras to ensure data transmission, recording, and storage of images on the vehicle; encouraged transport business units to invest in vehicles using new technology with low fuel consumption to limit greenhouse gas emissions, protect the environment, and meet the increasing demand for environmentally friendly vehicles.
For passenger transport businesses, in the context of increasingly diverse transport services, facing fierce competition when many taxi companies appear and operate, the number of personal cars and family cars is increasing, focusing on improving service quality, serving with reasonable fares has become the "survival" factor of this type.
To retain customers, in addition to regular maintenance of machinery, many taxi companies currently operating in the province such as Thinh Hung, Ngoc Lan, Thien Duc... and other cooperatives and car companies have required their drivers to focus on service attitude, strictly comply with traffic safety regulations such as not drinking alcohol, driving at the right speed, ensuring safety for passengers.
At the same time, improve the service quality at the call center department, ensure quick and professional reception and processing of customer information, bringing satisfaction when customers choose to use the unit's services.
Thanks to that, after a long period of being heavily affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and economic recession, in the first 6 months of this year, passenger transport services in the province recorded growth again with revenue reaching 771 billion VND, an increase of nearly 68% over the same period in 2023, making an important contribution to the growth of the transport service industry in general.
Faced with a slow economic recovery, people tend to tighten spending, and passenger transport activities are forecast to still face many difficulties.
To maintain operations and development, passenger transport service units are required to continue implementing strategies to optimize operating costs, improve service quality to ensure competitiveness and market share, and contribute to creating jobs for workers.
