The Commune Military Command is an important part of the political system, directly advising the Party Committee and local authorities on national defense and military tasks; organizing implementation and being the core force in building the national defense and people's security posture at the grassroots level. Currently, many communes, wards and special zones have large areas, dense populations and complex terrain. The grassroots military force must constantly mobilize to grasp the situation and handle situations. However, public means of transport are still limited, many officers of the Commune Military Command have to travel by personal vehicles, which does not ensure safety, uniformity and mobility. This significantly affects the quality and efficiency of work.
A typical example is Nui Cam commune - where there is a mountain called "the roof of the West", with rugged terrain, often experiencing heavy rain and landslides. Mobilizing work on the mountain is always a challenge for the commune's military officers. To reach the scene of the incident, the militia and self-defense forces spend a lot of time moving, sometimes "missing the beat" in coordinating with other forces. Now with equipped motorbikes, officers and soldiers of the Commune Military Command can quickly reach the scene, especially in emergency situations such as landslides and rescuing victims. This is a clear demonstration of the practical value of investing in mobile vehicles.
Comrade Le Tan Phung - Deputy Commander of the Military Command of Nui Cam Commune shared: "Equipped with 2 motorbikes, the militia force of the commune coordinates to carry out tasks more conveniently. After receiving the vehicles to the unit, we organized to thoroughly educate officers and soldiers to raise awareness of preserving assets, considering them as "equipment ready for combat". Every Friday, the unit cleans, preserves, and checks the operation of the vehicles, just like preserving weapons and other technical equipment".
Using the new vehicle, soldier Pham Huu Loi - Military Command of Nui Cam commune was excited: "When merging at the commune level, ending the district level activities, the commune area was very large, including An Hao and Tan Lap communes (old); bordering An Cu commune and Chi Lang ward. The area increased many areas of pilgrimage tourism , resorts, forest ecology and residential areas, so it was very difficult for us to mobilize to carry out our tasks. Equipped with more motorbikes, we have a plan to use the vehicle effectively, meeting the work requirements in the new period. Each officer and soldier cherishes and preserves the vehicle as personal property."
In communes with the characteristics of being surrounded by water, traffic mainly depends on bridges, ferries and the circular roads around the islands such as My Hoa Hung, Cu Lao Gieng, Phu Tan, motorbikes are more effective. When the circular roads around the commune are upgraded and expanded, the motorbike becomes an effective tool to help the commune military command easily move throughout the area. Thanks to that, the work of grasping the situation, mobilizing people, being ready to fight, and coordinating to maintain security and order are carried out faster and more effectively. It can be said that the new motorbikes have "solved the problem" of moving in special areas.
Equipping the commune military command with motorbikes not only brings immediate results in improving mobility, but also has long-term, sustainable significance. The commune military force can quickly move to any location, shortening the time to handle situations. Commune military officers have the opportunity to closely follow the people, strengthening the trust and attachment between the people and the army. With new vehicles, commune military officers are more excited, confident, responsible, and ready to complete their tasks well.
Colonel Vu The Van - Deputy Commander of the Provincial Military Command said: "The motorbikes issued are the common property of the provincial armed forces, need to be strictly managed, used for the right purpose, ensure safety, economy, and promote the highest efficiency in work. At the same time, this is also a concrete manifestation of the policy of building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and gradually modern local armed force."
Believing that, with the attention of the Party, State, People's Army, and the spirit of solidarity and high determination, the grassroots military force of An Giang province will continue to promote its core and pioneering role, ready to receive and excellently complete all tasks, firmly protecting the border homeland with a rich revolutionary tradition.
Implementing the direction of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, from July 2025, the General Department of Logistics and Technology urgently deployed a plan to purchase and equip more than 6,000 motorbikes for commune-level military commands nationwide. The vehicles were selected based on the criteria of durability, ease of use and convenience in technical assurance work. |
