Immediately after the groundbreaking ceremony, the joint venture contractor mobilized thousands of personnel and hundreds of pieces of equipment to serve the construction of the package. During the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin, the joint venture contractor still mobilized nearly 300 personnel at the construction site.
The Long Thanh airport construction project phase 1 has a total investment of nearly 110 trillion VND. The project has 4 component projects, of which component project 3 includes essential works in the airport invested by ACV with a total investment of more than 99 trillion VND.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged and highly appreciated the progress of the implementation of the items, in which site clearance and basic procedures have been completed.
The Prime Minister praised ACV and Dong Nai province and stated that if 2022 and 2023 are the starting years, 2024 is the acceleration year, and 2025 is the breakthrough year to complete and put Long Thanh airport into use in the first 6 months of 2026, striving to shorten the time by 3 to 6 months.
The Prime Minister noted that Dong Nai province and relevant agencies should soon study, plan and calculate the construction of Long Thanh airport city. The Ministry of Transport and relevant agencies should study and calculate the traffic connection plan between Long Thanh airport and Tan Son Nhat airport. At the same time, study the design and construction plan for phase 2 to be ready for implementation immediately after completing phase 1.
Previously, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected the construction site of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 (package XL3 - section through Thu Duc City) and visited, presented Tet gifts, and encouraged cadres and workers working at the construction site.
Currently, there are 300 engineers and workers working on the entire Ring Road 3 project during Tet. The XL3 package alone has about 50 workers.
Talking with representatives of contractors, foreign experts, engineers, and workers, the Prime Minister welcomed workers who worked through Tet and took time to reunite with their families to go to the construction site for the common development goal of the City.
According to the Prime Minister, if the Ring Road 3 is closed, it will ensure traffic connection between the Southeast, Southwest, Central Coast regions and important traffic junctions such as Tan Son Nhat airport, Long Thanh airport and Can Gio port in the future.
Also at the project construction site, the Government leaders visited the workers' work, life, thoughts and aspirations and encouraged them to try to do better while still paying attention to ensuring labor safety.
