Training in nutritional care for patients

On October 21, Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company ( Vinamilk ) and its brands of Sure Prevent powdered milk, Probi live yogurt drink, and Vinamilk yogurt accompanied the Vietnam Chief Nursing Club to organize a training program with the content "Nutritional care for patients with pathological conditions and continue to effectively implement Circular 31/2021/TT-BYT regulating nursing activities in hospitals".

The training course was attended by 300 students who are Club members and experts, medical staff from major hospitals, nursing schools in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces.

With the aim of raising awareness of the importance of nutritional care for patients through head nurses, nutritionists and medical staff, from 2020 up to now, the Vietnam Head Nurses Club (Vietnam Head Nurses Club) and Vinamilk have signed a strategic cooperation agreement and continuously implemented in-depth training activities for thousands of head nurses and medical staff of medical examination and treatment facilities nationwide.

In 2023, Vinamilk will continue to accompany the Vietnam Chief Nursing Club to implement a series of practical activities, including: Updating and republishing books on Communication andeducation on nutritional health for patients; Organizing training courses on nutritional care for patients in the 3 regions of the North, Central and South. The training program "Nutrition care for patients and continuing to effectively implement Circular 31/2021/TT-BYT regulating nursing activities in hospitals" taking place on October 21, 2023 is the first class in a series of training courses in the 3 regions across the country.

During the training session, 300 trainees who are Club members and medical staff at hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces were updated with information on nutritional care for patients. The trainers are leading experts from the Department of Nutrition and Nursing Department of leading hospitals in the Southern region such as Cho Ray, National Children's Hospital, Military Hospital 175, Ho Chi Minh City Medical and Pharmaceutical Hospital... sharing knowledge and experience in nutritional care for specific groups of diseases such as cardiovascular disease, malnutrition, cancer, chronic kidney failure...

Also in the training program, the Vietnam Chief Nursing Club and Vinamilk continued to introduce the first edition of the book Communication and education on nutrition health for patients to a large number of members and interested people. This is the result of a thorough preparation and review process, with the active participation of leading nutrition experts, nurses in Vietnam, lecturers from universities, and leaders from 2022.

The book "Communication and education on nutritional health for patients" includes 16 topics ranging from general information, health education communication skills; counseling and psychological health education for patients to nutritional health communication and education for some common diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney failure, etc.

According to BSCKII. Hoang Van Thanh, Chairman of the Vietnam Chief Nursing Club, in recent years Vinamilk has always effectively accompanied the Club in organizing training courses and helping members acquire the most core and practical knowledge in patient care, especially in nutritional care for patients, contributing to the health sector in improving the quality of medical examination and treatment.

“The Vietnam Nursing Club and Vinamilk share a common goal of improving the quality of patient care in general, especially nutritional care for patients with underlying medical conditions in hospitals. Therefore, both sides will actively promote initiatives and implement useful activities to create conditions for members to improve their knowledge of nutritional health care for patients, especially children and the elderly,” added Dr. Hoang Van Thanh.

Also according to Dr. Hoang Van Thanh, nutritional care for patients - especially for patients with underlying diseases - plays a very important role, helping patients understand, implement and maintain a suitable nutritional regimen to improve health and recover quickly. Good patient care combined with a balanced and reasonable nutritional regimen will help patients - especially children, the elderly, people with underlying diseases, and seriously ill people - recover their health best, shortening the treatment time.
