In the current context, climate change is an urgent threat to the agricultural sector, therefore sustainable agricultural production is an important goal, prioritizing the development of biological production, organic production, and climate change adaptation.
The training course aims to foster and improve specialized technical knowledge for agricultural extension workers, agricultural technicians, farmers, farm owners, and cooperative members with sufficient qualifications and skills to organize production; Popularize organic production processes so that farmers can create safe durian products that meet market demands, thereby contributing to improving efficiency, increasing income, and at the same time contributing to supporting the development of sustainable agriculture to create products that ensure quality and food safety...
Students visit and practice at the site.
Through the training course, the trainees were taught by lecturers who are experts and have a lot of practical experience in the agricultural field, especially on durian trees, sharing knowledge about organic durian production techniques to adapt to climate change. Specifically, weed management to maintain humidity, regulate temperature and humidity during the flowering stage of durian; technical guidance on using organic fertilizers and pesticides, techniques for flowering, pruning fruit, etc.
In addition, students also visited the durian intensive farming model at Mr. Le Dinh Huan's household, village 7, Dak Ha commune, Dak Glong district - one of the durian production models with high economic efficiency in the locality. Mr. Huan said that his family's durian garden is applying technical measures to adapt to climate change such as using weaver ants as natural enemies to treat harmful aphids, using strains of microorganisms that are antagonistic to pathogenic fungi and nematodes that harm durian roots, etc.
With the closely trained content, the team of agricultural extension officers, farm owners and farmers have acquired useful knowledge to serve the transfer of science and technology in the locality, helping people apply it to durian production at home.
The class was evaluated by students as very useful, providing a lot of practical knowledge suitable for local durian production conditions.
