Turn off calls from unknown and annoying numbers on WhatsApp

Meta has just updated a new feature for WhatsApp to help users block unwanted calls such as harassment, scams or numbers they don't want to answer.

Since WhatsApp was acquired by Meta, the tech giant has been regularly rolling out major updates to the app, focusing on user experience. Recently, the OTT software has added a new option that is considered useful.

WhatsApp has been continuously updated with new features in recent months.

Through WhatsApp, the program will automatically turn off notifications of incoming calls from unknown phone numbers. New options are available for all accounts to prevent harassment, scams or annoying calls from unknown subscribers.

Users can enable it by accessing the application, tapping on Settings > selecting Privacy > selecting Call . Then, all calls from unknown numbers will have notifications turned off but it will still be displayed in the Call category so that the account owner can check and respond if they recognize the phone number of an acquaintance or in case they need to contact again.

In addition, WhatsApp also introduced a Privacy Checkup feature that allows users to customize the level of protection of their personal information on the application. WhatsApp users can select Start checkup in the Privacy settings to perform operations at different levels to enhance the security of messages, calls and personal information.
