With a first-round bye, second seed Taylor Fritz will begin his campaign in the second round against the winner of Camilo Ugo Carabelli and Roberto Carballes Baena. If he wins his first match, the American will likely face 27th seed Gabriel Diallo of host Canada in the third round.
Taylor Fritz's potential fourth-round opponent is French 15th seed Arthur Fils. If he makes it to the quarterfinals, Fritz's biggest opponent will be defending runner-up Andrey Rublev. Fellow American, fourth seed Ben Shelton, is likely to be Fritz's next opponent if he makes it to the semis.

In the other draw, number one seed Zverev will meet the winner between Adam Walton and Benjamin Bonzi in round 2. The opponents that the German tennis player could face if he goes far in the tournament are Brazilian prodigy Joao Fonseca (round 3), number 14 seed Francisco Cerundolo (round 4).
If Zverev wins all three of his opening matches, he could face fifth seed Holger Rune or 10th seed Daniil Medvedev in the quarter-finals. Zverev's biggest opponent if the German reaches the semi-finals is third seed Lorenzo Musetti from Italy.
As the top two seeds, Alexander Zverev and Taylor Fritz can only meet in the final of the 2025 Canadian Open. This year's ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Canada lost its appeal when three stars Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, and Novak Djokovic did not register to participate.
The 2025 Canadian Open will take place from July 27 to August 7 in Toronto, Canada. Alexei Popyrin is the defending champion, having defeated Rublev 6-2, 6-4 in the final of last year's tournament.
