Amazon Q Developer, powered by the Amazon Bedrock platform, is a generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) assistant for developers, helping them understand, build, scale, and operate AWS applications easily and quickly. When integrated into a development environment (IDE), it is a powerful tool for software development, including code completion (programming languages), new code generation, vulnerability scanning, code upgrades, and optimization.
The application of Amazon Web Services has helped increase Techcombank 's programmer productivity by 30%.
The initial Amazon Q Developer trial with 50 developers yielded impressive results, with internal team satisfaction reaching 80%, clearly demonstrating a positive impact on productivity and programming quality. Thanks to these positive results, the bank has expanded the tool's deployment to over 600 of its developers.
Since then, the development team has generated over 135,000 lines of code, raising the feature acceptance rate to 33.5% and the documentation acceptance rate to 90.5%. The tool has also enabled security scans of over 102,000 lines of Java/C code, identifying over 15,000 reports and incidents, contributing to improved programming quality and enhanced security standards.
Techcombank accelerated the development cycle of its Techcombank Mobile digital banking application thanks to the Amazon Q Developer application. With outstanding features such as Code Suggestions, Fix and Explain Code, and AI Commit Message, this AI assistant helped the bank shorten feature development time and save 572 man-days compared to manual development, reducing it to just 3 months and contributing to a 30% increase in overall departmental productivity.
These improvements have enabled Techcombank to respond quickly to customer needs, providing a personalized and seamless digital banking experience for its 15.4 million customers.
