The Nation (Thailand) newspaper revealed that the "female killer" who was just arrested by the police is named Sararat Rangsiwuthaporn, 32 years old.

She has been suspected of being a "serial killer" for many years, following the death of her friend Siriporn Khanwong on April 14.

The Thai newspaper described the suspect and the victim attending a Buddhist ceremony together in Ratchaburi province. After being poisoned with cyanide by Sararat Rangsiwuthaporn, the victim Siriporn Khanwong collapsed and died on the riverbank in the western province of Thailand.

Police said the victim's mobile phone, money and handbag were also "gone missing", while they found a bottle of cyanide on Sararat Rangsiwuthaporn's person when she was arrested.

As the investigation continues, police suspect Sararat Rangsiwuthaporn of killing 11 other people, including her ex-boyfriend. The previous victims, aged between 33 and 44, were killed in a similar manner to the latest victim.

Notably, among the victims that authorities suspect Sararat Rangsiwuthaporn of poisoning are two female police officers. However, Thai police have not yet provided the identities of the 11 victims who died "suddenly" before.

"Police and forensics are investigating the serial murder of female suspect Sararat Rangsiwuthaporn," police major general Montri Theskhan told The Nation .

The suspect's lawyer, Sararat, said his client denied all charges. "My client is pregnant and is under psychological pressure after being detained by the police for several hours," the lawyer said.

Police said the motive that led Sararat Rangsiwuthaporn to poison 12 relatives with cyanide was to "rob property".

Previously, public opinion was also shaken when authorities accused Charles Sobhraj of participating in at least 20 murders in Thailand.

Charles Sobhraj's victims were drugged, beaten, robbed, and even burned alive. The gruesome murder was later made into a film.

According to the Independent, murderer Charles Sobhraj was released in December last year after completing a prison sentence in Nepal for the murder of two tourists.
