With the spirit of not leaving anyone behind, housing support does not stop at providing funding, but is also a process of accompanying, supporting, and mobilizing the community to join hands to help the poor stabilize their lives and feel secure in their work and production. Thousands of poor and near-poor households, meritorious people and ethnic minorities have been supported to build and repair houses.
In Yen Binh commune, the local government has vigorously implemented a plan to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households, near-poor households and meritorious people. The locality has supported 111 households, of which 92 were newly built and 19 were repaired. After the administrative unit merger, the commune continued to add 36 more households (22 newly built and 14 repaired).
According to the leader of Yen Binh commune, the local government identified this as a key task, requiring the participation of the entire political system. Not only stopping at supporting funding, but also directly mobilizing businesses, organizations, and people to join hands to contribute efforts and working days so that each new house is truly a warm home of humanity.

From temporary shelters to the joy of settling down
In the middle of Phieng Duong hamlet, Mr. Ma Van Tai's spacious level 4 house has now been completed and put into use. Mr. Tai emotionally said, "My family has been a poor household for many years, living in an old, dilapidated house, leaking and wet in the rain. With the State's support of 60 million VND, plus the help of the villagers, my family has a more solid and sturdy house. "I am very grateful, now I have a new house, I just hope to try to work hard to escape poverty," Mr. Tai emotionally said.
Sharing the same joy as Mr. Tai's family, in Ha hamlet (Yen Trach commune), Tay ethnic woman Tran Thi Hue is still emotional when talking about her new, spacious house. At the end of 2024, she received 60 million VND in support to build a 45m² house with a corrugated iron roof and tiled floors.
“I was sick, in poor health, life was very difficult. Having a new house gave me more strength to overcome my illness, to try to raise my children and make a living. The house is not just a place to live, but also a belief and motivation,” Ms. Hue shared.
Also in Yen Trach commune, Mr. Nguyen Van Minh's family, a poor household, received support to repair their old house. Thanks to the help of relatives and neighbors, his roof no longer leaks during the rainy season. Mr. Minh shared: "On the day the house was inaugurated, people came to congratulate me, I was so moved that I could not speak. Thank you to the government and the neighbors for helping me have a warm home like today."
In Na Ri, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nong Thi Anh Tho commune said that the whole commune has 146 households eligible for support to remove temporary houses. Up to now, 100% of the plan has been completed, ensuring that when the rainy season comes, people will be able to live in spacious and safe houses.
Mr. Hoang Binh Quang, a poor household in residential group 9 (Na Ri commune) confided: “My family of three generations had to live in an old, dilapidated house, but now we have a new home after two months of construction. On behalf of my family, I am truly grateful for the attention of the government and neighbors. Now that I have a house, I am even more determined to work to escape poverty soon, so that I can help people in difficult circumstances like me in the future.”
Spread the spirit of solidarity and love
Not only is the support from the State budget, the housing support program for poor households in Thai Nguyen also receives strong support from organizations, businesses and charitable individuals in the area to support funding and construction materials for the program. Many cadres, youth union members, and women's union members also directly participate in working days, building new houses with households. The spirit of solidarity and sharing is strongly spread.

In addition to helping people have stable housing, authorities at all levels also implement many livelihood support policies such as preferential loans, guidance on livestock and crop farming techniques, job referrals, etc. to help poor households have the conditions to develop their economy and escape poverty in a sustainable way.
The housing support program for poor households in Thai Nguyen is not only a deeply humane social security policy, but also a concrete expression of the spirit of taking people as the root in the development process. Each completed house not only eliminates the makeshift, dilapidated scene, but also opens a new journey - a journey of faith, determination and aspiration to rise up.
