Attending the appraisal meeting were specialized representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade , scientific reviewers and leaders of provincial departments, branches, and People's Committees of relevant districts.
The project is located at the mining site of Thong Nhat bauxite mine with an area of 349.92 km2, belonging to the land area of 9 communes in Bu Dang district, Phuoc Tin commune (Phuoc Long town) and Tan Phuoc commune (Dong Phu district); Tho Son bauxite mine has an area of 163.6 km2, the center of the mine is 10 km from Duc Phong town, the east part borders Dao Nghia mine ( Dak Nong province), the south borders Lam Dong province mine, the southwest borders Thong Nhat mine. Through exploration, the total geological reserve of the whole mine is 497,680 thousand tons of raw ore, equivalent to more than 200,500 thousand tons of refined ore.
The Binh Phuoc bauxite mining and processing project is being implemented to meet the raw material source for 3 ore processing plants at 2 mines with an operating time of over 30 years with a capacity of 2 million tons/year. The project is being implemented according to the Planning for exploration, exploitation, processing and use of minerals in the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, approved by the Prime Minister in Decision 866/QD-TTg dated July 18, 2023. When the project comes into operation, it will create regular jobs for about 1,200 workers...
The project's feasibility study report received 85 comments from experts, specialized consultants, and related departments, branches, and People's Committees of districts in the province with land areas in the project. At the meeting, the basic comments were explained and accepted by the investor for editing and finalization so that the competent authority can advise the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province to consider and decide.
