Dalot appeared out of sync with the MU squad. |
Ruben Amorim's side started brightly when Casemiro headed in the opener in the first half. However, things quickly fell apart in the second half, when two errors in the defence allowed Forest to score twice in just 102 seconds.
Amad Diallo rescued a point for the visitors with a stunning long-range strike in the 81st minute. But while the Ivorian emerged as the hero, Dalot was the biggest disappointment.
Positioned as a left-back in a 3-4-3 formation, the Portuguese player was constantly exploited by opponents. He won only 3/8 duels and lost the ball 12 times – an unacceptable number at the highest level.
Despite 4 ball recoveries and 3 blocks, Dalot was still rated 4/10 by Goal and was substituted in the 68th minute. Dalot was considered the culprit in the second goal, when he let Nicolo Savona freely run in to finish without approaching.
Dalot's form is said to make it difficult for him to keep his starting position when MU travels to Tottenham next weekend. In the context of Amad's rise on the right wing, Dorgu showing more endurance and better positional awareness when playing on the left, Dalot is at risk of being removed from the starting lineup.
Meanwhile, coach Amorim needs more energetic and focused players, especially at full-back. In this role, a moment of carelessness can cost the team dearly.
