Early morning on May 27, during the exciting ceremony of Liverpool FC receiving the Premier League trophy, a car suddenly crashed into a crowd of fans.
The incident left 27 people hospitalized, two of them seriously injured. However, police said they do not believe it was a terrorist incident.
British police say they have arrested a "white man, aged 53, of British nationality, from the Liverpool area", believed to be the driver of the car that ploughed into a large group of celebrating fans in the city in north-west England.
Twenty people were treated at the scene. Of the 27 people taken to hospital, four were children. One child and one adult are in critical condition. Four people trapped under the car were rescued by firefighters.

Videos on social media showed people being thrown into the air as the car plowed into the crowd. When the car came to a stop, angry fans surrounded it and began smashing windows while police officers intervened to prevent them from approaching the driver.
“We believe this is an isolated incident and are not looking for anyone else at this time. This is not terrorism,” Merseyside Police interim deputy chief constable Jenny Sims told reporters, Reuters reported.

A witness said the collision happened about 10 minutes after the Liverpool team bus passed, according to the BBC.
Liverpool City Council leader Liam Robinson said on social media that the incident had "cast a dark shadow over what was otherwise a joyous day".

Mr Dal Babu, a former superintendent of police at London's Metropolitan Police, told the BBC that there was widespread speculation on social media that the incident was an Islamist attack.
A witness of Reuters reported that there had been chaos in the city center where the parade was scheduled to pass before the incident, with crowds and spectators confused by a lack of road closure signs.
Liverpool FC - the English Premier League champions sent a message of comfort to fans on social network X: "We would like to send our condolences and prayers to those affected by this serious incident."
