Than Vo Vietnam finds champions, Johnny Tri Nguyen martial arts school dominates

(NLDO) - The professional MMA event Gods Of Martial Arts - Than Vo Vietnam has ended with 5 eye-catching final matches that satisfied the fans.

On the evening of December 7 at The Grand Ho Tram resort ( Ba Ria - Vung Tau province), the final match series of the Gods Of Martial Arts (GMA) - Than Vo Vietnam tournament took place with the focus being on 5 title matches to find the champions of Than Vo Vietnam.

Specifically, the 5 best names in the 5 weight classes of the tournament are Le Huy Hoang - Cobra class (55kg), Luu Duc Manh - Golden Rooster class (57kg), Mui Trong Vinh - Eagle class (59kg), Nguyen Tien Long - Black Panther class (63kg) and Nguyen Trung Hai - Tiger class (68kg) respectively, taking turns to challenge the 5 champions who were granted special privileges from the previous season's Dragon Fight League 2023, including Nguyen Hoang Thach, Bui Truong Sinh, Tran Trong Kim, Nguyen Vu Phuong Hoai and Ha The Anh.

In the first final match of the Cobra weight class, there was a clash between Le Huy Hoang (PFC Phu Quoc) and Nguyen Hoang Thach (Lien Phong MMA Martial Arts School).

As soon as the match started, Hoang Thach with his inherent confidence quickly put Huy Hoang in a passive position with powerful and precise attacks.

Even though he improved his defense in the following rounds, Huy Hoang still had a lot of difficulty in dominating his opponent in this match, because for most of the match he was overwhelmed by the boxer from Johnny Tri Nguyen's martial arts school.

Towards the end of the match, Huy Hoang's physical strength decreased due to the excellence of Hoang Thach. In the end, the judges agreed with an absolute victory for Nguyen Hoang Thach of Lien Phong Martial Arts School with the championship belt in the Cobra weight class.

In the second match, the Tiger weight class clash between champion Ha The Anh (Raptor MMA) and Nguyen Trung Hai (The Eagle Fight Team). With the advantage of physique and height, The Anh seized the opportunity, creating distance to continuously launch powerful knee strikes.

Finally, after only 2 minutes of the first round, The Anh took advantage of the opportunity to finish Nguyen Trung Hai with a series of beautiful punches, thereby bringing home the Vietnam Martial Arts belt in the Tiger weight class - this is also the second belt in Ha The Anh's career in the past two years.

The remaining 3 matches were marked by extremely impressive victories from fighters with comprehensive skill sets. The Golden Rooster division welcomed champion Bui Truong Sinh (Lien Phong Martial Arts School) after convincingly defeating Luu Duc Manh (No.1 Muay Club); another representative of No.1 Muay Club, Mui Trong Vinh, continued to leave a lasting impression on the audience when he defeated “Golden Lion King” Tran Trong Kim (PFC Phu Quoc) in an uncompromising match;

Finally, in the Black Panther weight class, Nguyen Tien Long (Raptor MMA) failed to get his revenge when he lost for the second time in a row to Nguyen Vu Phuong Hoai (Lien Phong Martial Arts School) after both fighters had given 5 dramatic rounds.

Thus, at the end of the final night of GMA season 1, the Organizing Committee found 5 champions of the tournament including: Nguyen Hoang Thach (Black Panther); Bui Truong Sinh (Golden Rooster); Mui Trong Vinh (Eagle); Nguyen Vu Phuong Hoai (Black Panther) and Ha The Anh (Ferocious Tiger).

Reviewing the entire tournament, martial artist Johnny Tri Nguyen - General Director of Than Vo Viet Nam emphasized: "GMA will strive to do better in every aspect to respond to the love of the audience and the fighting spirit of dedication of the martial artists.

Master Johnny Tri Nguyen further revealed that the GMA championship belt and the title of Vietnamese Martial God are not the highest goals that he and his team are aiming for. Because this is just a stepping stone for the journey to bring Vietnamese martial arts to compete with world champions.

Next year, the scheduled competition schedules of GMA Than Vo Vietnam and GMA Than Vo International will be interspersed from April to November 2025.
