Workers' Month: Highlights in union activities

In response to Workers' Month and the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Health in 2025, the Dung Quat Economic Zone Trade Union and the provincial industrial parks organized many activities, attracting a large number of union members and workers to participate. The grassroots trade unions organized emulation movements, physical training, sports, culture, and artistic exchanges... As one of the units with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Good workers, creative workers", Chairman of the Trade Union of Doosan Enerbility Vietnam Co., Ltd. Ha Van Hung said that the company has policies, creating conditions in terms of time as well as equipment and resources for workers to have the opportunity to promote their creativity. In addition, the company's Trade Union mobilized workers to respond to the emulation movement, proposing that the company reward effective solutions and initiatives. In particular, regularly exchanging, listening, accompanying employees, and building a safe working environment are the prerequisites for employees to be able to promote their intelligence and contribute best to the business.

This is the 14th year that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has implemented Workers' Month according to Notice No. 77-TB/TW dated February 24, 2012 of the Secretariat on organizing "Workers' Month". Accordingly, the activities of Workers' Month and the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene in 2025 will be deployed throughout May. The provincial level will organize the Launching Ceremony of Workers' Month and the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene in 2025; celebrate the 139th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2025); organize a ceremony to commend union members, excellent workers, and exemplary business owners who compete to follow Uncle Ho's teachings; advise and propose to the Party Committee, coordinate with the government and functional agencies to organize dialogues and meetings with party members who are workers, union members, and laborers; organize health check-ups, consultations, and provide free medicine for workers and laborers, etc.

In addition, trade unions at all levels, based on the actual situation in localities and units, proactively advise Party committees, coordinate with authorities and functional agencies to develop plans to organize activities in response to Workers' Month 2025 to ensure practicality and effectiveness. There are 5 key contents and activities: Program "Creative workers, confidently entering the new era"; Program "Dialogue in May" and Forum "Party with workers - Workers with the Party"; Program "Gratitude to workers", "Thank workers"; organize a peak month for developing union members, establishing grassroots unions; introduce and develop party members for workers and the program "Propaganda, raising awareness of union members and workers"...

According to the 2025 Workers' Month plan of the Provincial Federation of Labor, strive to have 55% or more of trade unions in all types of enterprises have at least 1 activity responding to Workers' Month; have 35% or more of trade unions in administrative agencies and public service units have at least 1 appropriate activity responding to Workers' Month.

Vice President of the Provincial Federation of Labor Nguyen Thi Viet Hien said that the theme "Vietnamese workers take the lead in entering the new era" is not only an innovation in the thinking of the trade union organization, but also shows the expectation of the proactive and creative role of workers, meeting the requirements of the new situation and international integration. Up to this point, from trade unions at all levels to factories and enterprises have implemented many practical and meaningful activities. This will be an exciting Workers' Month, creating a strong influence and attention from the whole society, especially employers and authorities at all levels, to the jobs, lives and issues of workers. Thereby, workers have more motivation and inspiration to work creatively, making tireless efforts for the growth of enterprises and the development of the country.
