On October 30, in Hanoi, Tuoi Tre Thu Do Newspaper organized a discussion program with the theme: "Young people of the capital improve their level of science and technology , innovation, digital transformation to contribute to the development of the capital".

In the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the digital transformation trend taking place strongly around the world, Hanoi identifies science - technology, innovation and digital transformation as important pillars to build a civilized, modern, integrated and sustainably developed capital. In that journey, the youth of the capital are the pioneers in studying, researching and applying science and technology to life; they are the ones who contribute to realizing the goal of building Hanoi into a center of innovation, a smart city and a driving force for the development of the whole country.
Speaking at the opening of the seminar, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Thu Do Newspaper Ngo Vuong Tuan emphasized that with their intelligence, courage and pioneering spirit, Hanoi youth are contributing every day to building a strong capital on the journey of digital transformation, innovation and sustainable development.

This is a forum for experts, managers, entrepreneurs and outstanding young people to share knowledge, experiences and new trends, while spreading the spirit of innovation and aspiration to rise up among the young generation of the capital. This is also an opportunity to recognize the important role of the capital's youth - the pioneering force in studying, researching, applying science and technology and digital transformation.
Speaking at the seminar, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union Tran Quang Hung commented that the program's theme is not unfamiliar to young people, the important thing is that the youth of the capital need to update new factors, recognize the rapid changes of the times to prepare suitable luggage for the future. In the context of the country entering a new stage of development, with many major resolutions paving the way for the nation to break through, the youth need to clearly define their position, role and responsibility in the innovation and digital transformation of the capital.

The Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union affirmed that the youth of the capital are the core force in that process. The Hanoi Youth Union hopes that, through practical activities, each young person will use technology, especially artificial intelligence (AI), to create specific products, thereby transforming themselves from passive to proactive creators. The Hanoi Youth Union will continue to expand playgrounds, creative practice activities, start-up projects, and digital transformation among union members and youth. This is an environment for young people to practice skills, test ideas, apply technology to life, and contribute to solving community problems.
At the discussion, former Deputy Head of the Hanoi Party Committee's Propaganda and Education Department (now the Hanoi Party Committee's Propaganda and Education Department) Pham Thanh Hoc said that digital transformation and the development of high-quality human resources are core factors in the development strategy of the capital and the country in the new era. The most important foundation for young people to be able to study, practice and contribute effectively includes three pillars: technological knowledge, political courage and cultural depth. This is the luggage that helps the young generation not only master scientific knowledge but also maintain courage and promote the cultural values of elegant and civilized Hanoians.

Assessing the role of artificial intelligence and new technology in making Hanoi a "Smart Capital", where young people play a pioneering role, Dr. Pham Huy Hieu, lecturer at the Institute of Engineering and Computer Science, Deputy Director of the Office of Research and Innovation Management - VinUni University said that the current young generation is not only the subject of inheriting science and technology but also the subject of shaping science and technology, contributing to building a smart city with knowledge and youth. To develop themselves in the field of science and technology, students must always be ready to learn, new technology, passionate about learning, and perseverance.
According to Dr. Pham Huy Hieu, digital transformation brings many opportunities but also makes many young people easily fall into the "virtual world" such as social networks, abuse of Chat GPT, AI. If they abuse social networks, receive "junk" information on social networks, young people gradually lose the ability to criticize society. Therefore, each person needs to determine the purpose as well as the time of using social networks.
Journalist Ngo Vuong Tuan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Thu Do Newspaper, shared that in the digital age, journalism has many advantages but also many challenges. Journalism has technology and AI to produce news articles faster and more attractively. However, journalists and press agencies still have to put courage and ethics at the center.
As social networks develop, the press also faces the problem of social networks “reading” more of users’ interests. The press needs to change, especially needing a team of young reporters to grasp the thoughts and aspirations of young readers, promptly orienting their lifestyle and thinking on social issues.
At the discussion, Le Uc Nghiem, representative of the Executive Committee of the Viet Duc High School Youth Union, shared many passionate opinions about the digital transformation journey among students, clearly demonstrating the proactive and creative spirit of the young generation in the new era. For the Gen Z generation - students who grew up with the internet and social networks - technology is not only a learning tool, but also an environment for connection, creativity and self-expression. Realizing that, the Viet Duc High School Youth Union has identified digital transformation as a key solution to improve the quality of Youth Union work, towards building a modern, dynamic and civilized learning environment. The school's Youth Union regularly organizes thematic activities and discussions such as "Culture of behavior on the Internet", "Preventing fake news", "Skills to protect personal information". Thereby, students are not only equipped with skills to use the network safely, but also form the right attitude, know how to respect, share and spread positive values in cyberspace.
At the seminar, representatives of the Youth Union of communes and wards in Hanoi shared their experiences in pioneering and establishing a youth force to take the lead in digital transformation, actively participating in administrative reform, guiding people to use online public services, applying information technology in management and daily life, organizing voluntary activities to handle administrative procedures, supporting citizens to submit documents online, providing guidance on public services... especially during the time of implementing the organization of 2-level local government.
