Bau Bang Commune (HCMC): Rewarding forces participating in overcoming consequences of floods

On October 31, Bau Bang commune rewarded collectives and individuals with achievements in preventing, combating and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

Speaking at the award ceremony, the leaders of Bau Bang commune praised the sense of responsibility and positivity of 36 individuals and 6 groups in the work of preventing, combating and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters in recent days in the commune.

Previously, on the evening of October 22, due to heavy rain, a large amount of water caused flash floods in Group 7, Bau Bang Hamlet, sweeping away a house, leaving one person missing.

Immediately after receiving the news, authorities were present at the scene, urgently searching for the missing victim.

Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune Nguyen Huu Luan commended individuals with achievements in overcoming the consequences of floods.

After 14 hours of coordinated search, at 2:00 p.m. on October 23, the units found the body of the missing victim downstream of Dong Co stream.

Timely rewards aim to encourage the bravery and high sense of responsibility of officers and soldiers.

To encourage the family to overcome difficulties, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with the Party Committee and People's Committee of Bau Bang commune to visit, encourage and give nearly 175 million VND to help the family cover funeral expenses and overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
