On September 15, the People's Committee of Buon Ma Thuot City ( Dak Lak ) directed the Department of Internal Affairs to preside over and coordinate with agencies and units to review the responsibilities of the Principal of Lac Long Quan Secondary School and related individuals in the case of a student who finished 9th grade but had a report card of only 6th grade.

The City People's Committee also assigned the Department of Education and Training to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to review and guide Lac Long Quan Secondary School to handle and overcome the consequences of students not having academic records and report to Buon Ma Thuot City People's Committee before September 20.

As Tien Phong reported, when attending the gratitude ceremony of 9th grade students at Lac Long Quan Secondary School, Mr. D.XV was surprised when his son D.XH's name was not on the school list. Later, when the parents expressed their opinions, they were told that H. only had the report card for 6th grade.

The Department of Education and Training investigated and found that in the 2019-2020 school year, student D.XH was admitted and placed in class 6D. At the end of the school year, student H. was only classified as having poor academic performance and fair conduct and had to repeat grade 6.

At the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year, the school arranged for H. to repeat class 6D (remain in the same class), but she followed her friends to class 7D (from the old class 6D to class 7D).

After that, Mr. D.XV submitted a request to the school to allow his child to move up to class 7D, with the reason being that he wanted his child to integrate into the community. In the request, the parents stated that H. had autism (no supporting documents were attached).

At the request of the family, Mr. Phan Thanh Thuy, Principal of Lac Long Quan Secondary School, agreed to allow student H. to study in class 7D to integrate into the community and did not require testing, evaluation and educational classification for student H. according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training . Student H. studied as an auditor and participated in educational activities.

This incident resulted in H. continuing to study in grades 8 and 9 without havingeducational evaluation records for grades 7, 8 and 9.

According to the Department of Education and Training of Buon Ma Thuot City, the parents were informed about H.'s lack of academic results in grades 7, 8, and 9 during the year-end parent-teacher meetings.

The Department of Education and Training of Buon Ma Thuot City confirmed that the Principal of Lac Long Quan Secondary School violated the regulations on school management and administration according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
