At the opening ceremony of "Book and Digital Transformation Week" held at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street on October 25, the City Department of Information and Communications and a number of units and localities announced the designs of book streets and book spaces in District 7, Binh Tan District and Cu Chi District.
These three book streets are expected to be inaugurated and put into operation in March and April 2025 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) with the common goal of spreading reading culture in the community. Mr. Lam Dinh Thang, Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City shared that the City continues to expand new book spaces to meet the cultural enjoyment needs of the people and contribute to the development of reading culture, promoting culture - tourism .

Along with the two existing book streets, Ho Chi Minh City Book Street (District 1) and Thu Duc City Book Street, the construction of the three additional book streets mentioned above contributes to the formation of a system of book streets and book spaces in the East - West - South - North direction of the City, creating a unique "ecosystem" for cultural - tourism activities, publishing and developing the reading culture of the City. "Book and Digital Transformation Week" takes place until October 31 with many activities of displaying and popularizing electronic publications, along with exchanges and discussions about books in the digital transformation era. In particular, for the first time, the exhibition space on digital transformation associated with the fields of publishing, printing and distribution will bring new experiences in accessing and reading books for readers of all ages with more than 3,000 e-books and audiobooks; online exhibition space with 498 documents.
