Removing difficulties for petroleum businesses

(GLO)- On the afternoon of April 24, the Department of Industry and Trade of Gia Lai organized a conference to meet with petroleum businesses in the province, to disseminate relevant legal regulations, orient the development of the province's petroleum storage and supply infrastructure; and remove difficulties for petroleum businesses.

Attending the conference were more than 100 delegates representing departments, branches; People's Committees of districts, towns and cities; Business Associations and petroleum businesses in the province.

Currently, in the province, there is 1 operating petroleum depot, 1 petroleum depot under investment and construction with a total scale of 6,800m3 ; 401 operating petroleum stores; about 200 traders receiving the right to retail petroleum, 1 agent, 2 general agents and about 10 distributors, key traders establishing enterprises or business branches in the area.

Petroleum business activities meet the needs of socio-economic development and ensure fuel supply for production, business and consumption needs, without causing shortages. In 2024 alone, the supply of petroleum to the market reached 374 million liters (up 13% over the same period); environmental protection tax paid to the budget reached about 529 billion VND (up 16% over the same period, accounting for about 8% of the province's total budget revenue). Current legal regulations related to petroleum stores such as: applying automatic connection solutions when issuing electronic invoices at petroleum stores; traffic safety; fire prevention and fighting; reviewing and comparing with land use planning and plans; reviewing and comparing with construction planning to ensure implementation.

At the conference, delegates were informed about the content of the National Petroleum Reserve and Supply Infrastructure Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050; roadmap and solutions for handling small-scale, ineffective, and unplanned petrol stations; investing in new petrol stations in urban areas and new routes. At the conference, units and enterprises also discussed and reflected on difficulties and obstacles in operations related to current regulations on land for petrol stations; fire prevention and fighting; connecting national highways and provincial roads; infrastructure conditions; development of accompanying services and trade, etc. At the conference, delegates also proposed many solutions to contribute to the development of a stable, transparent and sustainable petrol trading market.
