Change information on the North-South Expressway signboard through Quang Tri

After CAND Newspaper reported on the signboard on the North-South Expressway, the entrance from Ho Chi Minh Road in the Viet Trung Farm area, Quang Tri Province, which had the same content written on two signboards, causing confusion among many road users, the authorities have stepped in to handle the situation.

On October 24, Project Management Board 6 ( Ministry of Construction ), the investor of the Bung - Van Ninh expressway project through Quang Tri province, said that the unit has coordinated with relevant local departments and branches to edit the content on the signboard at the entrance to the expressway from Ho Chi Minh road, Dong Son ward and Nong Truong Viet Trung town, Quang Tri province.

Accordingly, the new sign has been supplemented with arrow information and clearly indicates "Go to Hanoi " and "Go to Ho Chi Minh City" so that traffic participants can easily recognize the direction of travel when turning onto the highway in this area.

Previously, on October 21, CAND Newspaper reported that at the entrance to the North-South Expressway in the area near Viet Trung Farm, Quang Tri province, there were two signs, one sign to guide traffic participants to turn North and one sign to guide traffic participants to turn South.

It is worth mentioning that both of these signs are identical and indicate the entrance to the Bung - Van Ninh Expressway (500m away). Many road users have reported that they were confused or lost their way due to these signs.

The old information sign previously confused many road users and caused them to enter the wrong lane on the highway.

Many drivers when participating in traffic when reaching this point often hesitate, some temporarily stop their cars nearby to get out of their cars to wait and ask passersby. Many traffic participants said they did not know where Bung or Van Ninh was, whether they were going in or out... Some people when participating in traffic when reaching the highway entrance here got lost.

Accordingly, if the driver makes a wrong turn to the North, he or she must travel more than 10km to the next drop-off point in Nam Trach commune, then turn around for a total of nearly 25km to return to the starting point. Conversely, if the driver makes a wrong turn to the South, he or she must travel more than 20km to the next drop-off point at the intersection between the Bung - Van Ninh and Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressways, and more than 40km to return to the starting point.
