Awarding the 2024 Science and Technology Journalism Awards

This is the recognition of the Ministry of Science and Technology in honoring authors writing about science and technology, innovation and digital transformation who have made efforts, researched, discovered, and reflected the results of the science and technology sector in general, contributing to the development of science and technology of the country in particular.

Ministry of Science and Technology honors authors who write about science and technology -0 — Leaders of the Propaganda Department and the Ministry of Science and Technology awarded Certificates of Merit to the first prize winners.

Held since 2012, the award has received the active response and participation of central and local press agencies with more than 8,000 works and groups of works in 5 types of journalism. In 2024, the Organizing Committee received nearly 200 works/groups of works from authors and groups of authors. According to the evaluation of the Voting Council, in general, the works have comprehensively reflected all aspects of science and technology activities, innovation and digital transformation, addressing urgent, popular and practical issues of economic and social life. The Ministry of Science and Technology has approved and awarded the 2024 Science and Technology Journalism Awards to 24 journalistic works. There are 4 first prizes, 5 second prizes, 5 third prizes and 10 consolation prizes. The authors/author groups winning the first prize will receive the Cup, Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Science and Technology and prizes; the authors/author groups winning the second, third and consolation prizes will receive the Certificate, the 2024 Science and Technology Journalism Awards Cup and prizes.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui Hoang Phuong said that the 2024 Science and Technology Journalism Awards Ceremony is not only an occasion to honor outstanding journalistic works, but also an opportunity to affirm the important role of the press in the cause of national development, especially in the context of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation becoming strategic pillars for national development. In order for the innovative and breakthrough ideas of the resolution to quickly enter life and spread to every citizen, every business and every scientist , the press is the pioneering force, a solid bridge between policy and practice. Each journalistic work on science, technology, innovation or digital transformation is not just information, but a bridge between ideas and reality, between laboratories and factories, between Vietnam and the world.

“In my opinion, it is the voice of knowledge, arousing faith, awakening aspirations, and encouraging innovation throughout the nation. Science and technology journalism is also a force that protects the Party's ideological foundation, fights against false information, and guides public opinion with scientific knowledge, authentic evidence, and convincing arguments,” Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui Hoang Phuong emphasized.
