Valuable capital and vitality of Dak Lak
The province has the 4th largest area in the country (over 13 thousand km2), the agricultural land area is nearly 658 thousand hectares (ranked 2nd in the country), with more than 370 thousand hectares of fertile red basalt soil suitable for growing industrial crops, fruit trees, medicinal plants; is the province with the largest coffee area in the country with the famous Buon Ma Thuot coffee brand at home and abroad.
This place has a young population, an abundant labor force of about 1.1 million workers, a province rich in revolutionary traditions and a community of ethnic groups rich in cultural identity, with 49 ethnic groups living together; has many rich and diverse tourism resources.
Dak Lak is known as an attractive tourist destination with many landmarks such as Lak Lake, Gia Long - Dray Sap waterfall cluster, Buon Don tourism, Krong Kma waterfall, Dieu Thanh, Tien Nu... Besides, there are national parks, nature reserves (such as Chu Yang Sin, Easo...).

Efforts to integrate and develop
With the great advantage of the vast red basalt plateau full of sunshine and wind, in recent years, Dak Lak province has made efforts to improve the province's investment environment, encourage businesses to invest in developing agriculture in a green, sustainable direction and apply science and technology to production, gradually increasing the value of agricultural products according to the circular economic chain in agriculture.
Dak Lak is the province with the largest area for growing and producing coffee products for export in the country, with an area of 182,343 hectares and an annual harvest of over 400,000 tons, accounting for 40% of the country's output. The province is also the largest cotton, cocoa, rubber, and cashew growing area in Vietnam. At the same time, it is the place where other fruit trees are grown, such as avocado, durian, rambutan, mango, etc. These strengths have contributed greatly to the provincial budget.

No longer a poor province…
As a result, after 10 years (2013 - 2023) of international integration, the average economic growth rate of Dak Lak province increased by 6.8%/year; the total product in the area (GRDP, at 2010 comparative prices) of 10 years reached 505,366 billion VND. The province has attracted nearly 380 investment projects from domestic and foreign investors, with registered investment capital of over 109,683.71 billion VND; many of which have been put into effective operation. At the same time, it has attracted 21 official development assistance (ODA) projects with a total investment of about 4,363 billion VND, focusing on areas such as education, transportation, agriculture, etc.
Most recently, in the first 6 months of 2024, the total regional product value (GRDP) of Dak Lak is estimated at nearly 25,500 billion VND, an increase of 4.13% over the same period in 2023. Of which, agriculture, forestry and fishery increased by 4.38%; industry - construction increased by 4.52%; services increased by 4.04%.
Total social investment capital mobilization is estimated at over VND 15,600 billion, up 3.62% over the same period in 2023. Disbursement of public investment capital by July 31, 2024 reached 38.9% of the plan, higher than the national average (32.2%), ranking first among the 5 Central Highlands provinces and 13th out of 63 localities nationwide. Total state budget revenue in the area reached nearly VND 4,500 billion, equal to 64.12% of the annual estimate assigned by the Central Government.
Exports in the first 7 months of 2024 reached 1.13 billion USD, up 25.4% over the same period; imports reached 295 million USD, up 33.1%. Total retail sales of goods and service revenue reached more than 62,600 billion VND, up 9.52% over the same period. Administrative reform continued to achieve positive results, the Administrative Reform Index (PAR Index) in 2023 increased by 10 places, the PAPI index increased by 10 places, the PCI index increased by 9 places...
Social security policies are implemented promptly, practically, and to the right target. The province also does a good job of ensuring political security and social order and safety in the area; promptly combats and prevents plots and sabotage activities of hostile and reactionary forces; does not allow complicated incidents to occur, does not allow passivity or surprise...
It is clear that now, Dak Lak is no longer a poor province. This land has been changing day by day, in accordance with the requirements of socio-economic development of the Central Highlands and the development orientation of the country.
