Three more police officers go on UN peacekeeping mission

(Chinhphu.vn) - On April 25, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony to hand over the President's Decision to officers to carry out peacekeeping missions at the UNMISS mission (Republic of South Sudan) in 2025. At the ceremony, authorized by the President, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung presented the Decision to officers of Working Group No. 5 to carry out their duties at the UNMISS Mission in the Republic of South Sudan.

After a very thorough and systematic screening, selection, training, and rigorous evaluation and examination process by the United Nations, three comrades of Task Force No. 5, including: Lieutenant Colonel, PhD Pham Van Doan, Head of the Department, People's Public Security Political Academy; Lieutenant Colonel, PhD Nguyen Van Nam, Deputy Head of the Department, People's Security Academy; Captain Tran My Linh, Nam Dinh Provincial Police officer , were officially awarded the decision and assigned to participate in United Nations peacekeeping operations in 2025.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung congratulated the three officers of Working Group No. 5 on being honored to receive the President's Decision today. According to the Deputy Minister, the Ministry of Public Security's announcement of the Decision to send Working Group No. 5 to perform its mission at the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission affirms the commitment of the Vietnamese Government in general and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security in particular to strongly support all efforts for the United Nations to carry out its "mission" of peacekeeping, contributing to preventing conflicts from recurring, ensuring peace and sustainable security for the world . From a nation that has shed so much blood and sacrificed to gain peace, now, Vietnam joins hands with friends and partners to build peace and maintain peace.

Regarding the three officers on duty, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung emphasized that they must consider this a great honor and pride, but at the same time it is also the responsibility of the selected People's Public Security officers, representing the image of the Vietnam People's Public Security force, representing the image of the country and people of Vietnam in the international environment.

Comrades need to maintain political will, exemplary qualities, solidarity, responsibility, promote their own capacity, qualifications, experience, and skills, and excellently complete assigned tasks.

Representing the officers of Task Force No. 5, Captain Tran My Linh expressed her determination to overcome all difficulties and successfully complete all tasks assigned by the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and the United Nations; promoting the spirit of the People's Public Security soldiers with courage, intelligence, responsibility and discipline in the working environment of the United Nations; focusing on building a beautiful image of the country and Vietnamese people as friendly, hospitable, peace-loving, active and responsible towards the international community.
