Ho Chi Minh City 10th grade exam: Candidate unexpectedly marks strange characters at the beginning of the answer sheet

On June 6, more than 76,000 candidates taking the 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City took two exams: literature and foreign language.

In a quick report on the first two exam sessions, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said that unusual situations had occurred. Among them, at the exam site of Do Van Day Secondary School (Hoc Mon District), two candidates marked strange characters at the beginning of the answer sheet.

After discovering the incident, the Examination Council instructed the candidates to continue taking the test, made a record of the irregularities, and warned them that they might be graded together.

At the Tran Hung Dao Secondary School Examination Council (District 12), a candidate used two colors of ink. The Examination Council still allowed the candidate to continue doing the test as usual, but made a record of the irregularity and warned the candidate.

At the examination board of Nguyen An Khuong Secondary School (Hoc Mon district), there was a candidate whose health was not good and he could not sit and take the test. This candidate was arranged to take the test in the reserve room.

Another case at the Le Van Tam Secondary School Examination Council (Binh Thanh District) had a candidate vomit and had to go to the medical center . The Council instructed the candidate to continue taking the test if he returned.

Another situation recorded by the press was that a female supervisor at the exam site of Ngo Chi Quoc Secondary School (Thu Duc City) stepped off the podium onto the floor, suffered severe pain, and had to go to the emergency room.

The examination board quickly sent another invigilator to assist and ensure the examination was conducted. Immediately afterwards, the examination site transferred the invigilator to the hospital for emergency treatment. The police and examination room supervisors accompanied him, as the exam papers had already been opened. It was estimated that the invigilator had a broken leg.

There were 76,435 candidates registered for the 10th grade entrance exam in 2025. According to the quick summary data, there were 76,154 candidates taking the literature exam, reaching a rate of 99.63%, with 281 candidates absent.

In the foreign language subject, 275 candidates were absent. The number of candidates taking the exam was 76,160, reaching 99.64%.

Tomorrow, candidates will take the math exam.

The expected exam marking time is June 8-25. The exam scores, benchmark scores and review time will be announced later by the Department of Education and Training, based on the actual marking progress and processing of results.
