Dong Nai candidates have completed 2/3 subjects of the 10th grade entrance exam.

(ĐN) - On the afternoon of May 29, candidates participating in the 10th grade high school entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year completed the second exam subject, English.

English is an optional subject selected by the local Departmentof Education and Training from among the subjects that are scored during the candidate's study process, according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. This is also the subject with the shortest test time - 60 minutes, half the time compared to Math and Literature subjects which are 120 minutes.

In the English exam, candidates do the test in the form of multiple choice combined with essay on the test paper.

At the end of the English exam, many candidates shared that this year's exam closely followed the content of the English textbook according to the 2018 General Education Program and the sample exam of the Department of Education and Training. However, the knowledge is somewhat extensive, requiring candidates to have a relatively rich vocabulary, a solid grasp of grammar, and good reading comprehension skills to achieve the desired score.

Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, a candidate at the Examination Council of Thong Nhat A High School (Trang Bom District) said that the English exam was not too difficult but quite long, covering 4 A4 pages. She was able to answer about 60% of the multiple choice questions correctly. The last part of the exam was rewriting a relatively difficult paragraph, which required a solid vocabulary and grammar.

According to the Department of Education and Training, during the English exam, exam room discipline continued to be tightened, and candidates had an easier time getting to the exam site than in the morning due to the cool weather and no rain.

In both exams, there were no cases of candidates or invigilators violating exam regulations. Local authorities and police of wards and towns where the exams took place actively supported the exam councils, contributing to ensuring the exams were conducted safely, seriously, and in accordance with regulations.
According to the latest information from the Department of Education and Training, in the first exam session of Math (morning of May 29), there were 804 absent candidates compared to the number of candidates registered for the exam, and in the afternoon exam session of English, there were 68 more absent candidates, bringing the total number of absent candidates in both exams to 872 candidates. Thus, the "race" for the 10th grade entrance exam after the first two exams had only 20,617/21,489 candidates registered for the exam.
Tomorrow morning, May 30, candidates will take the final exam of this exam, Literature, with a time limit of 120 minutes in essay format. The exam starts at 8am and ends at 10am.
Candidates who wish to take the entrance exam for specialized classes at Luong The Vinh High School for the Gifted will take an additional specialized subject exam on the afternoon of May 30. The specialized subject exam time is 150 minutes.
