Quang Tri town makes breakthrough in party member development work

With the synchronous and drastic leadership and direction of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Party committees at all levels, the work of developing Party members in Quang Tri town since the beginning of the 2020-2025 term has had a clear change. The awareness and sense of responsibility of Party committees and Party organizations in the work of developing Party members have been raised; Party committees at all levels have identified the work of developing Party members as the top priority task of Party building. Therefore, they have focused on regular, close, effective leadership and direction, achieving positive results.

Since the beginning of the term, the entire Quang Tri Town Party Committee has admitted 163 Party members, achieving the target set by the Resolution of the 7th Town Party Congress and reaching an annual average of 67.67% according to Resolution No. 21-NQ/TW, dated June 16, 2022 of the 13th Party Central Committee on strengthening and building the Party's Party cell and improving the quality of Party members in the new period. The quality of admitted Party members has been improved, especially in terms of increasing educational level, the proportion of admitted Party members with high school degrees is high; the number of admitted Party members who are ethnic minorities; and members of the Youth Union and youth account for a large proportion.

In 2024 alone, the Town Party Committee admitted 67 party members, exceeding the average annual target set by the Resolution of the Town Party Congress (striving to develop 30-40 party members each year) and achieving the target according to the plan to implement Resolution No. 21-NQ/TW, Action Program No. 48-CTr/TU set by the Provincial Party Committee (striving to admit 3% of party members each year out of the total number of party members of the Town Party Committee, which is more than 2,100 party members).

Of these, 25 party members are high school students, 7 party members are ethnic minorities; 2 party members are religious people. This is considered a breakthrough in the work of developing party members in Quang Tri town, ensuring both quantity and quality.

The above achievements are thanks to the attention, leadership and direction of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, the efforts and endeavors of Party committees and organizations at all levels. Every year, the Standing Committee of the Quang Tri City Party Committee has directed Party cells to focus on developing Party members in terms of both quantity and quality; assigned and made the target of admitting Party members one of the criteria for evaluating and classifying Party cells; organized work with Party cells on the work of creating sources, training and introducing outstanding members to be admitted to the Party. At the same time, every 6 months, a preliminary review of the work of admitting Party members is organized to promptly remove difficulties and obstacles at the grassroots level during the implementation process.

In addition, the Quang Tri City Party Committee has focused on directing Party committees at all levels, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations from the town to the grassroots to promote propaganda and education on revolutionary ideals for union members, association members and the masses to have a correct and profound awareness of the meaning and importance of party member development work.

Propagating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and outstanding achievements in the renovation cause to strengthen people's trust in the Party's leadership; continuing to thoroughly grasp and seriously implement Plan No. 101-KH/TU and Official Dispatch No. 501-CV/TU of the City Party Committee's Standing Committee on strengthening the work of developing Party members and guiding documents of the Central Committee and higher-level Party Committees on the work of developing Party members.

The Party committees and organizations at all levels have focused on the work of fostering awareness of the Party for the masses, while at the same time directing well the monitoring and helping of the masses after studying. Party cells and organizations regularly inspect, supervise, and promptly remove difficulties and obstacles for grassroots Party committees in the work of creating sources and recruiting Party members. Paying attention to promoting the role of Party organizations, the State, the Fatherland Front and grassroots mass organizations in creating sources and nurturing outstanding masses to introduce to the Party.

In addition to focusing on directing the development of party members among union members in residential areas, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee also resolutely directs the work of developing party members among high school students in the area. It has directed high schools from the beginning of grade 10 to conduct surveys, discover sources, develop plans, assign party members, organize the union to monitor and train through school movements so that students can gradually identify goals, ideals to strive for and practice.

After that, select and train students who meet the standards and conditions to attend Party awareness training classes. In addition, high school Party committees focus on training students in political awareness, coordinating with students' families in monitoring, training and helping them strive to join the Party.

Over the past 5 years, the town has admitted 27 “18-year-old” party members who are high school students. This is considered a breakthrough in the work of developing party members, contributing to the successful implementation of the target of developing party members according to the Resolution of the 7th Quang Tri Town Party Congress, term 2020-2025.

Breakthroughs in the work of developing party members in Quang Tri town have contributed to improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of party cells and organizations, while affirming the core leadership role of the Party Central Committee in localities, agencies and units, contributing to building the Party Committee of Quang Tri town increasingly clean and strong.
