On January 25, Major General Nguyen Hong Thai, Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 2, and the delegation visited and wished a happy New Year to Son La province. Receiving and working with the delegation, Son La province had comrade Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Colonel To Quang Hanh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command.
On behalf of Son La province, comrade Lo Minh Hung informed about the outstanding achievements in various fields that Son La province achieved in 2023 and affirmed that the armed forces made a significant contribution to those achievements. On behalf of the cadres and people in the province, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee hoped that in the coming time, Military Region 2 would continue to pay attention to and help Son La province in building and consolidating a comprehensively strong provincial armed force.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2024, he wished the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in the province to unite and compete to successfully carry out the tasks of socio-economic development, maintaining national defense and security.
Previously, Major General Nguyen Hong Thai and the delegation of Military Region 2 visited and worked with the Provincial Military Command and the Provincial Border Guard Command of Son La on combat readiness and preparations for taking care of officers and soldiers during the Lunar New Year. Major General Pham Hong Thai requested the leaders of the units to arrange the number of soldiers on duty during the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin according to regulations; encouraged officers and soldiers in the entire force to continue promoting the achieved results, overcoming difficulties to successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Party and State; wished all officers, soldiers and their families a new year of health, peace and prosperity.
