“Who loves children more than Uncle Ho Chi Minh? Who loves Uncle Ho Chi Minh more than children?”
Among Uncle Ho's countless loves for all Vietnamese people, there is a great love, especially for children.
He once said: “I have no family, nor children. Vietnam is my big family. All Vietnamese children are my children.”
The image of Uncle Ho feeding children, celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival with them is so close, simple but full of love!
His affection, concern, care andeducation through letters, teachings and articles sent to children across the country on the occasion of Children's Day, the opening day of school... are invaluable assets for the young generation in particular and the Vietnamese people in general.

On the occasion of International Children's Day June 1, let's read again Uncle Ho's letters to children on the occasion of International Children's Day.
Letter to children nationwide on June 1, 1950
Dear children!
June 1st is the day of children all over the world .
All children should have been well-fed, able to play and study like children in the Soviet Union. But in capitalist countries, parents are exploited workers, so children are also exploited and have to suffer.
For example: America is a country with the most money, there are rich people who can sit back and enjoy their wealth. But children from working families have to work for hire at the age of 5 or 6.
In our country Vietnam, the French caused war, they burned houses, killed people, and robbed. Therefore, adults had to resist, children had to resist too.
Uncle loves you very much. Uncle promises you that: When the day comes when we drive out all the French invaders and the resistance is successful, Uncle, the Government and all organizations will try to make sure that you all have enough to eat, have fun, study and be happy.
I hope you are good children. I wish you good health. I send you many kisses.
UNCLE HO."

Letter to children nationwide on International Children's Day (1951)
Dear children nationwide,
Last month's 1st was International Labor Day,
This month's first is International Children's Day,
May 1st is the day when all workers in the world show their solidarity and struggle.
June 1st is the day for children around the world to show their solidarity and struggle. And adults show their love for children and fight to protect their rights.
Uncles, brothers and sisters fought hard to fight, destroy French colonialism, defeat American intervention so that their children could be free and not be slaves.
Uncles, brothers and sisters compete to increase production so that children can have enough food and clothes. So adults fight for children.
But you also fight. How do you fight?
The children: - Compete to study, - Compete to help the families of wounded and dead soldiers. So the children fight.
Children must unite and love each other, between Vietnamese children, between Vietnamese children and Chinese children, Soviet children, and children of other countries.
That is the international spirit. With that international spirit, when the world's children grow up, they will not oppress each other, conflict with each other, or fight and kill each other. On the contrary, they will be friendly, help each other, and together preserve and enjoy the happiness of peace and democracy.
This time, Uncle Ho spoke too long, do you understand? If you don't understand, write to Uncle Ho and ask.
I wish you all good health, happiness and diligence. I send you and your children around the world many kisses.
Uncle Ho."

He especially praised the children in the temporary war zone who enthusiastically participated in the resistance.
I send you many kisses.

The historic Dien Bien Phu campaign was victorious, ending the resistance war against the French colonialists. Despite his busy schedule, Uncle Ho did not forget to send a short letter to children nationwide on June 1st.
“Letter to children nationwide on June 1, 1954”
“To the children,
On the occasion of International Children's Day, Uncle Ho cordially wishes you all to be obedient, healthy, happy and progressive. Uncle Ho kisses you all.
On behalf of the children, I also send many kisses to friendly countries and the world.
Uncle Ho."
“Letter to children and cadres of schools in the South” (1955)
Dear children and staff of schools in the South, I want to visit you and your aunts and uncles, but I am too busy to go.
On the occasion of International Children's Day (June 1), Uncle Ho cordially wishes you good health and happiness and advises you the following:
- First of all, you must love and help each other, and must unite closely. Unity between the older children and the younger children.
Solidarity between children from this region and children from other regions.
Solidarity between the children of the South and the children and local people.
Solidarity between children and officers.
- You must love work and maintain discipline. Don't be unrestrained, because unrestrained freedom is not good.
- In daily life, children should practice being self-reliant. Children should also not act spoiled.
- Children should compete, compete in studying, compete in everything to become organized, disciplined, creative, and strong children.
Dear officers:
- You should work with peace of mind. You must understand that there is no job more glorious than taking care of and nurturing children who are the future owners of the country.
- To fulfill that glorious mission, you must be honest and united, raise your sense of responsibility, and not "look at this mountain and that mountain", want to change jobs, or compete for position.
- We must love our children as our own, and should not discriminate between children from this region or those from other regions. Every child is a child of our extended family, and the Party and Government have assigned us to take charge of raising them.
- In work and study, you should try to compete and exchange experiences to continuously improve together.
During your time here, close to the Party, close to the Government, close to Uncle Ho, you and your aunts and uncles should study and work enthusiastically: So that when the country is reunified and you return to your homeland, you and your aunts and uncles will all be exemplary people in terms of ideology, morality, as well as in all other aspects.
From now on, you and your children should organize competitions. On National Day (September 2nd), I will have awards for those children and your children with the best achievements.
I send you and your aunts and uncles many kisses.
June 1, 1955

Also on June 1, 1955, Uncle Ho had an article published in Nhan Dan newspaper No. 455 sending a message to parents, groups and organizations about their responsibility towards children.
“1/6”
“Children happily celebrate their International Children's Day, just as working people happily celebrate International Workers' Day on May 1st.
At the same time, June 1 reminds adults (first of all parents, teachers, youth union) of their duties towards children.
To love children, we must use the new democratic spirit to educate them with the "5 loves": love the Fatherland, love the people, love labor, love science, and love public property.
We must skillfully raise and help children develop their health and mind, becoming children with "4 good qualities:" active, bold, simple, honest.
We must cultivate in children the habit of solidarity and collectivity, develop their enthusiasm and creativity. We must gradually help children develop the character of a new person: not afraid of difficulties, not afraid of hardships, bold and persistent.
In addition to studying, we need to guide children to have fun in a collective and cultural way such as singing, dancing, acting, camping... And encourage them to participate in increasing production, visiting wounded soldiers, helping families of martyrs...
In everything, children should be guided to be self-sufficient. Adults should not interfere in everything, or make excuses for everything; should not force or constrain; should not make children become formal, subservient, and become "old" children.
For the past 8-9 years, we have resolutely fought for resistance; now we are resolutely fighting for peace, unity, independence, and democracy throughout the country - also with the aim of building for our children a happy, joyful, peaceful, and prosperous life.
At the same time, we must educate our children well so that in the future our children will become talented and virtuous citizens, worthy of being the masters of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

"1/6” (1956)
“Today is International Children's Day. Schools, agencies and organizations all help children organize interesting and useful activities.
June 1 reminds us that: Parents, teachers, and youth organizations are the ones directly responsible for children, and we, all adults, have the responsibility to contribute to nurturing the future generations of the nation.
We take care of land reform well. We compete to restore the economy and develop culture.
We strive to strengthen the North and care for the South. We are determined to fight to build a peaceful, unified, independent, democratic and prosperous Vietnam. We sacrifice and strive, all for the purpose of building a happy life for our children.
In work and life, we all try to be exemplary. The combination of education from family to society will make children imbued with it. It instills in children a passionate spirit of love for the Fatherland, love for work, and love for learning.
Thus, you will become healthy, agile, brave, and honest. When you grow up, you will certainly be good citizens and good cadres.
On this occasion, Nhan Dan newspaper wishes Vietnamese children and children of other countries a very happy Tet.

On the occasion of International Children's Day June 1, 1969, under the pen name TL, Uncle Ho wrote an article "Raising the responsibility of caring for and educating children and adolescents" published in Nhan Dan Newspaper, issue 5526. This was the last article out of more than 1,000 articles that Uncle Ho wrote during his revolutionary career.
In the article, Uncle Ho mentioned the achievements of children and teenagers in the North and South and the existing problems. From there, Uncle Ho proposed the responsibilities of agencies and organizations in caring for and educating children.
“Raising responsibility for caring for and educating children and adolescents”
“In general, our children are very good.
In the South, the children were very brave, enthusiastically helping the army, helping families with resistance fighters, working as couriers, fighting guerrillas, etc. Many children just over 10 years old became brave soldiers to destroy the Americans.
In the North, children are all enthusiastically competing to do "thousands of good deeds" such as helping soldiers' families, returning lost property, and bravely risking their lives to save friends...
In the countryside, in many places, children organize to help cooperatives take care of healthy buffaloes and cows, plant trees and protect green trees. Children evacuated far from their families still try to overcome all difficulties, respect teachers, love friends, unite with local people and compete to study well and work well.
Many students are good at studying, getting 5 or 10 points in all subjects and have received awards from Uncle Ho.
Hundreds of children with outstanding achievements were awarded Badges by Uncle Ho. More than 2 million children were voted as Uncle Ho's Good Children.
Our people are very proud to have so many progressive children. We hope that you will try harder and make more progress.
But there are still a few children who are slow to learn because they have not been properly cared for and educated.
Children are the future masters of the country. Therefore, taking good care of and educating them is the duty of the entire Party and the entire people. This work must be done persistently and persistently.
In the coming time and this summer, it is necessary to promote youth and children's work to achieve many good and practical results.
First of all, families (i.e. grandparents, parents, siblings) must do this job well. Party committees, streets, and cooperatives must be responsible for practical and regular guidance.
The Committee for Children and Youth, the Youth Union, the education sector and other sectors and organizations need to have specific plans to care for and educate children to become healthier and more progressive. Provincial and City Party Committees need to be responsible for urging this work to achieve good results.
For the future of our children and our nation, everyone in every sector must be determined to take good care of and educate children.
TL.”
Imbued with Uncle Ho's thought that "taking good care of and educating children is the task of the entire Party and the entire people," our Party, State and people always pay attention to the work of protecting, caring for and educating children./.
