History still records the heroic feats of the six ancient Bung communes: Long Truong, Phu Huu, Binh Trung, An Phu, Phuoc Long and Tang Nhon Phu of Thu Duc City.

Located right at the gateway to Saigon, during 30 years of war, Bung Sau Xa was the base area of ​​revolutionary soldiers because it was surrounded by a green color of coconut forests, reed grass, cajuput mounds, and crisscrossing rivers and canals. At the Bưng Sáu Xã relic site, today's young generation is deeply moved when they see again the letters sent to their comrades by soldiers from the same Bưng region back then, the lines written to their families filled with the warm belief in a day of victory, and the simple mementos that the people carefully saved to support the revolutionary soldiers that are still preserved.

Rising to become a “New City”

December 2020 marked an important milestone for the birth of Thu Duc City with the goal of becoming an economic leader, spearheading the knowledge-based economy, an innovation center, promoting the development of Ho Chi Minh City and the entire Southeast region.

In 2021, the Covid-19 "storm" suddenly hit, causing a serious decline in most economic sectors of Ho Chi Minh City and Thu Duc City. However, with internal strength and determination, Thu Duc quickly overcame the storm and achieved impressive results: total budget revenue in 2023 reached 11,921 billion VND, reaching 66.23% of the estimate (18,000 billion VND) and equal to 59.39% over the same period (20,074 billion VND).

The industrial production value was 32,339 billion VND, up 8.39% over the same period, reaching 100.9% of the plan. The disbursement rate of public investment capital was 2,532 billion VND, reaching 98.2% of the plan.

Resolution 98/NQ-QH of the National Assembly on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Ho Chi Minh City officially took effect from August 1, 2023, in which the National Assembly dedicated a provision on specific mechanisms for Thu Duc, creating a strong driving force for the city to continue developing.

The entire government system and the people are rushing to start the construction work. The city is changing every day with the promotion of a series of key projects such as the Hanoi Highway expansion project, Mai Chi Tho Avenue, My Thuy 3-storey tunnel, Long Thanh airport phase 1... to be completed soon, contributing to creating a boost for the development of satellite urban areas at the eastern gateway.

“Where there are good lands, birds flock”, Thu Duc is considered a place where many modern and classy urban projects converge. The arrival of real estate “giants” such as BCG Land, Masterise, Vingroup, Gamuda Land... with a series of high-end projects is a testament to the fact that Thu Duc is transforming, positioning itself as a livable and investment-worthy land.
